Drew Scott, 44-year-old Property Brothers star, and his 37-year-old wife Linda Phan had their first child, a boy, on Wednesday, May 4, according to their podcast, At Home. They named their son, Parker James Scott, who was born on the couple's fourth wedding anniversary.

"Our lives are forever changed," they wrote in the title of a slideshow of photos on Instagram. Drew states on the podcast of their new baby boy, "Our new baby boy, he's a healthy baby, he's adorable," before asking his wife how she's feeling a few weeks after giving birth. "Other than pooped, I feel great," Phan said. "Very happy that he's finally here. I'm still in awe and in disbelief. I feel like every step of this pregnancy has taken me time to adjust. And then as soon as I almost adjust, it's onto the next milestone or the next thing. I feel like I'm always playing catchup with my feelings."

Drew describes his first experience with fatherhood as "amazing." He explains, "It's this immediate love and this feeling you need to do everything you can to make them feel safe and make them feel loved." Parker's arrival took a long time. Phan had been in labor for 44 hours, according to the couple. Phan eventually opted to an epidural, something she had hoped to avoid because she's "terrified of needles" and a caesarean section because "it was getting dangerously long."

"It seems like such a blur now," she remarks. "Just being in the moment, I think that's all you can do. I felt oddly calm for the most part. Like I was just flowing through it." For the longstanding couple, their newborn boy arrived on a very significant date: "Parker decided to come very efficiently on our anniversary. He's stealing the show. It's no longer about you and me on our anniversary," Drew jokes. "He made it just in time to celebrate with us," Linda adds.

The HGTV celebrity and his wife revealed on their podcast in December 2021 that they were expecting their first child in May. The couple has been married for four years and together for nearly a decade. After two years of fertility treatments, Phan and Drew received the good news in August 2021.

Following their pregnancy announcement, the couple uploaded a combined Instagram image of themselves posing in front of a mirror, exposing Phan's baby bulge. They wrote in the caption that they thought being transparent about their journey to parenting would be beneficial to others.

"It has been an adventure to get here! We know we're not alone in this experience and that everyone's is filled with unique challenges along the way," Scott and Phan wrote about their IVF experience. "When we first started down this path, we quickly felt sooooo appreciative of the doctors we've been fortunate to work with, and fam and friends who supported us throughout, sharing their stories or simply just being there."

"It made an overwhelming time in our lives more manageable," they added. "We hope as we grow through this, that even one of you reading this can also feel a little less lonely in whatever path you're on!"

Drew talked about how he's finally embracing being a father on their podcast. He said in December, "I knew I've wanted to have kids since I was a kid. But then I got really busy with work and I love what I do. I love helping other families. But I realized twelve years had gone by of doing that when we'd sort of sidelined starting our own family. I'm really glad we made that decision now."
