Drake teases ‘Certified Lover Boy' again, fans say it's been 'a WHOLE year' of waiting
Drake sent his fans into a tizzy on Tuesday, July 6, after he changed his Instagram bio to “Certified”, referring to his upcoming sixth album ‘Certified Lover Boy’ (CLB) which he has been teasing for close to two years now. The hip-hop heavyweight then quickly reserved a spot on the trending list as many believed the rapper will probably take more time to drop his latest full-length project.
The Grammy award-winning rapper was also in the news recently when a video, apparently from his album with rapper Future, got leaked on Twitter. The clip shared by a social media user soon went viral as Drake’s fans jumped with excitement. Champagne Papi’s brand new record will be a follow up to his 2018 album ‘Scorpio’ which featured chart-topping singles like ‘God's Plan’, ‘Nice for What’, ‘I'm Upset’, ‘Don't Matter to Me’, ‘In My Feelings’, ‘Nonstop’, and ‘Mob Ties’.

Is Drake finally dropping ‘Certified Lover Boy’?
Apart from changing his Instagram bio to “Certified”, the iconic hip-hop artist did not share any other post or Instagram story concerned with his new album. Therefore, it is difficult to say whether the ‘Take Care’ hitmaker will drop his ambitious project this Friday, July 9, or next week or the next month. Speaking of the aforementioned leaked video, it was captioned as, “Drake & Future were shooting a music video last week for Certified Lover Boy. Rumoured to be for a single!” and it allowed the fans to go behind the scenes only for a few seconds. In the 11-second video, we could see four individuals dressed in white on the monitor doing some choreography to Future’s verse on the track.
To treat his fans with new music, Drake had dropped a two-song EP in 2019 called ‘Best in the World Pack’ which he followed up with ‘Dark Lane Demo Tapes’ which included songs that did not make it to CLB. He also gifted his fans a three-song EP with features from Rick Ross and Lil Baby called ‘Scary Hours 2’. CLB was originally supposed to release in January 2021 but got delayed due to Drake’s knee injury.
‘He hasn’t been pushing the envelope’
Social media users rushed to Twitter as soon as they noticed the change in Drake’s Instagram bio. One user stated, “Drake officially dropping Certified Lover Boy this Friday or y’all just cappin??” Another posted, “Certified Lover Boy needs to drop. @Drake come on man.” One user tweeted, “No Cuz next month it’s going to be a WHOLE year since Drake released the first certified lover boy single and we still Albumless. He’s a sick individual.”
The next one asserted, “If Certified Lover Boy don’t hit like Take Care did, I’m officially done with Drake cause honestly he hasn’t been pushing the envelope for me.” One shared, “I’m happy drake ain’t drop #CertifiedLoverBoy in Jan. I truly need him to drop it like tomorrow. Or sometime during this summer.” One fan asked, “Why does drake have to be like that. I want to be excited for certified lover boy,” whereas, another concluded, “So imma assume certified lover boy is gonna drop in October and drake is announcing his retirement then.”
