Were Drake and SZA an item back in the day? If the 'God's Plan' is to be believed, then yes, he was dating SZA back in 2008 as heard on his latest track, titled 'Mr. Right Now', with 21 Savage & Metro Boomin. On the song, which is part of 21 Savage and Metro Boomin's 'Savage Mode 2', Champagne Papi raps, "Yeah, said she wanna f**k to some SZA, wait / ‘Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08 / If you cool with it, baby, she can still play / While I jump inside that box and have a field day"

This piece of information, disclosed by Drake himself, might shock and surprise many fans, but it isn't the first time the 6 God has brought it up in one of his songs. Previously, on the 2018 track 'Diplomatic Immunity', Drake hinted at his relationship with SZA by dropping the 'All the Stars' singer’s real first name, Solána. 'Diplomatic Immunity' was a 2-pack release alongside the hit track 'God’s Plan' on the rapper's 'Scary Hours' EP. In the song, Drake speaks about his early days as an artist, before his Hidden Hills residence. He raps, "I just pulled up on Solána show, the girl’s a natural / I knew her way back when Hollywood was international / Yeah, the furthest I’ve been, that’s word to my ends / Word to the flags that belong in the hood of my Benz."

SZA is yet to confirm nor deny these claims. But, according to multiple reports, the Top Dawg Entertainment artist unfollowed Drake shortly after the release of 'Mr. Right Now'. SZA. who just last month released her latest single titled 'Hit Different' featuring Ty Dolla $ign, received appreciation for the song from Drake as the rapper took to his Instagram story and posted a screenshot of the single's music video with the caption, "Solana is the chef’s kiss".

As fans await the arrival of Drake's next album, 'Certified Lover Boy', they can sit back and enjoy two new features by the rapper as he also makes an appearance on Bryson Tiller’s latest project, Anniversary, on the song 'Outta Time'.

Fans of both Drake and SZA were uick to react to the rapper's claim on 'Mr. Right Now'. One fan of SZA simply said, "I refuse to believe Drake dated SZA," while another, expressing similar sentiments, tweeted, "Drake better be lying about SZA." A different fan, pointing out that SZA might be too young for Drake back in 2008, wrote, "Drake just said "I was dating sza back in 08" but UHHH."

Talking about Drake's previous flings, a Twitter user wrote, "Drake fumbled Serena Williams, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, and Sza?!?!? This man cant keep a bad b**ch to save his life my god," while another questioned, "now why’d Drake have to bring sza’s good name out like that?" One more fan jokingly pointed out, "Drake used to date SZA back in 08? Drake’s hitlist got more 10’s than his own discography FFS."
