A description for the concert on Netflix reads, "In a star-studded evening of music and memories, a community of iconic performers honor Dolly Parton as the MusiCares Person of the Year." In a recent announcement for the special by Parton herself, the country star described it as an "unforgettable night." Taped just before the Grammy Awards in February 2019, Parton became the first-ever country artist to be honored with the MusiCares Person Of The Year award during the stellar ceremony in Los Angeles.

Upon receiving her award, she said, "I truly am honored to be the MusiCares Person Of The Year and the first country artist to be honored." Parton added, "I can truly feel the love in this house tonight ... it's a long long way from hills of East Tennessee to the Hollywood Hills, but it has been a wonderful journey."

Meanwhile, Dolly Parton recently received the Covid-19 vaccine that she helped to fund. According to NME, the country queen donated $1 million to the research behind the development of the Moderna vaccine. Before she received the vaccine, she told her fans, "I’m so excited. I’ve been waiting a while. I’m old enough to get it and I’m smart enough to get it." She added, "I’m trying to be funny now, but I’m dead serious about the vaccine. I think we all want to get back to normal, whatever that is. And that would be a great shot in the arm, wouldn’t it, if we could get back to that?"
