'Do you like Brahms?' Episode 4 sees Joon-young (Kim Min-jae) learn about Song-ah's (Park Eun-bin) past, how she fell in love with her best friend's then-boyfriend Dong-yoon. He also understands how she feels about being a relationship where her feelings are not reciprocated and neither is the other person considerate of her feelings. This leaves her heartbroken and also unsure of herself. All of this affects her mentally, and there is also the matter of her confidence being broken down bit by bit as she experiences many rejections. While he might not exactly have experienced the same, he has also been in love with his best friend's girlfriend. He understands how complex it is and between the two of them, there is no reason to hide their true feelings.

This freedom to be who they really are, around each other, is exactly what has got them closer to each other. From helping Song-ah out at an awkward birthday dinner where she would have to sit face to face with a man that she has been in love with, to being helped when he was in an awkward position with Jung-kyung; the two have moved forward in their relationship. From professionals who had begun working together, respecting each other, and even finding solace in each other, they have now become friends who confess feelings and emotions to each other without reservation.

That is in fact what really drew them close over the course of 'Do you like Brahms?' Episode 4. From confessing the truth about how much Joon-young hated competitions to how he felt lonely every time he had to take part in one, Joon-young told Song-ah everything truthfully while the two of them prepared for a talk concert. Song-ah also learned how much of a trouble maker Joon-young's father was, and that the competitions that he had taken part in were his solution to solve the problems caused by his father.

Then we also see Song-ah bloom under Joon-young's companionship with a sense of freedom that she did not have before. In a way, this is a result of learning that there is someone just like her in this world, someone who understands her but doesn't judge her. As Joon-young and Song-ah became good friends, their friends' relationships were turning sour. Song-ah's best friend Min-seong had broken up with Dong-yoon before he had gone to Italy to learn the art of making violins, however, after he returned, the two of them crossed a line after getting drunk.

On the other hand, Joon-young's friend Hyun-ho had proposed to Jung-kyung and she had accepted the ring that he had got for her. However, she doesn't wear it when she meets Joon-young. After learning that both his friend and his girlfriend lied about not meeting at Joon-young's New York recital, Hyun-ho is having a hard time. Jung-kyung's act of hiding the ring from Joon-young has only hurt him further. She even seems to attempt and ignite a romantic relationship with Joon-young, but that is exactly when Joon-young uses Song-ah to defend himself.

How will their relationships progress over the season? That is something we can wait and watch out for.

'Do you like Brahms?' airs on SBS on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 pm KST and can be streamed on Viki Global.
