We are well into the month of November and it's a time that carries a strange magic every year. It sits snug between the spooky Halloween season and the biggest festive season of the year, Christmas. You've just come from spending on Halloween celebrations while November also gets people prepped to empty their pockets for Christmas. Although that can be stressful for many, November is like the special month that sparks magic as there is both excitement for the upcoming fun and relief that a year of hard work is nearing its end. November isn't just known for 'no shave' month, there is plenty more associated with this month and it definitely does not fall short when it comes to the music department. So let's take time to remember some of the best songs to have been written about November. Check out our top five songs about November on today's Destination Jam playlist.

Gorillaz - 'November Has Come'

We kick off our playlist today with the eery slick 'November Has Come' by the widely loved British virtual band, Gorillaz. With lyrics such as "These kids is too fast. Juiced off a junk treat. Who could get looser off a crunk or a funk beat?" the song's meanings have been a subject of debate for Gorillaz fans. Some have felt 'November Has Come' alludes to the subject of death while others argue it's all about drugs or a mere social commentary. Watch the official music video and see if you can crack this one by sharing your comments below.

SZA - 'Sweet November'

This November offering by SZA is a bluesy heater that samples from the classic funk of Marvin Gaye and showcases how formidable the artist is with her lyrical creativity. "Jesus called me collect last night. It took all of me not to answer it. Opening lines include, "Daddy warned me the perils of play. Hard to deal God's standards. Flying high and fearless baby. I've kissed death a thousand times before. Remember me for who I was not who I am. I'll pray you never understand this. Sweet, sweet, sweet November."

Guns 'N' Roses - 'November Rain'

One of the most famous odes to November, Guns 'N' Roses' 'November Rain' released back in 1992. With its original runtime of near 9 minutes, the song peaked at No 3 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it the longest song in history to enter the top ten of that chart. It is also the third-longest song to enter the Hot 100 chart (the second-longest at the time of its release).

Wyclef Jean - 'Gone Till November'

'Gone Till November' is the third single released from Wyclef Jean's debut solo album, 'The Carnival'. This platinum November-based track also saw commercial success, peaking at No 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and spending a total of 20 weeks on the chart. Additionally, it peaked at No 9 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Before repeating the lines "I'll be gone till November," over an orchestra and melancholic guitar, Wyclef sings "Every time I make a run, girl, you turn around and cry I ask myself why, oh why See, you must understand, I can't work a 9 to 5 So I'll be gone 'til November."

Drake - 'November 18th'

Drake's November offering is more exclusive to a specific date than the entire month. The song's title doesn't appear anywhere in the track itself, but refers to a milestone encounter in Drake's career. In 2008, Lil Wayne was given some of Drake's music from Jas Prince, son of Rap-A-Lot founder J. Prince. Jas then immediately called Drake to invite him to fly to Houston. Toward the end of that year, in November, the Toronto MC flew to the Texas city and had his first meeting with Lil Wayne and was subsequently signed to Weezy's Young Money label. 'November 18th' sees the rapper sharing his love for Houston and a lavish lifestyle.
