Happy Birthday, Demi Lovato! As Lovato turns 28 on Thursday, August 20, we want to honor the celebrated pop star with a playlist of her best tracks for her special day. Check out our Destination Jam with our five picks of Demi Lovato songs below.

'Confident'

A trait we would all like to have, Demi Lovato's take on confidence is not something you easily forget. The music video for 'Confident', the second single off her 2015 album of the same name, sees Lovato showcasing her badass alter ego in a theatrical performance. With guest roles played by Michelle Rodriguez, Jeff Fahey, Zane Holtz and Marko Zaror, the video is fun to watch and sure to get you hyped as Lovato dishes out some bad-guy beatings. Musically, 'Confident' is a pop kick-in-the-chest with heavy brass, thumping drums and fits perfectly as a soundtrack to an action film.

'Cool for the Summer'

Lovato's 'Cool for the Summer' saw her stripping away further layers of her Disney association from her youth and becoming a prominent pop songstress of her own. Both the song and its video were praised by critics and fans for its sensuality and suggestive lyrics. Commercially, 'Cool for the Summer' reached No. 1 in Greece and the top 10 in the Czech Republic, Lebanon, New Zealand, Scotland and the United Kingdom. The song also reached the top 20 in Australia, Canada, Ireland, Slovakia, Spain and the United States.

'Stone Cold'

From hot to cold, going from upbeat to a slower jam may kill the flow, but Lovato's ability to drastically change up her style is the reason for including this song in this order. This Lovato track blends both pop and soul beautifully with the singer letting out some of her best vocals. It comes off as a hard-hitting ballad centered around a piano melody as Lovato sings lyrics like "Stone cold, baby/God knows I tried to feel/Happy for you/Know that I am, even if I can't understand, I'll take the pain/Give me the truth, me and my heart/We'll make it through/If happy is her, I'm happy for you."

'Tell Me You Love Me'

Lovato's ability to turn a love song into a gospel-fused anthem is nothing short of spectacular. It doesn't come off too spiritual or zealous but rather deeper in the earthly sense. Instrumentally, 'Tell Me You Love Me' is played with horns, percussive drums, handclaps and wah-wah guitar lines. Lovato explained to Billboard that the song is about "the vulnerability of coming out of a very serious relationship and having a tough time with it" and further added that lines such as "You ain't nobody 'til you got somebody" "calls out a big misconception".

'Lionheart'

This stunning track doesn't have a music video, but we can't help but include it. If 'Confident' spoke to your human emotion, 'Lionheart' speaks to your core. With echoing drums, ambient synth and Lovato belting out "And we walk together into the light/And my love will be your armor tonight/We are lionhearts/And we stand together facing a war/And our love is gonna conquer it all/We are lionhearts."

Destination Jam is a daily list of songs that will keep you entertained and grooving up top in lieu of feeling drained and losing the plot. Look out for a fresh selection of great tunes from MEAWW to refresh your mood every day!
