Destination Jam: The 5 worst Bring Me the Horizon songs that left a lot to be desired
We're bringing you something a little different on today's Destination Jam playlist. Metalcore group Bring Me the Horizon have just released their latest album 'Post Human: Survival Horror' and it's already an explosive success among fans. You may be enjoying the sounds of their latest project, but as a topic that is rarely discussed, have you ever given thought to the band's least interesting songs? To assist such curiosity, we have put together and discussed some of the worst songs by Bring Me the Horizon.
'Seen It All Before'
Bring Me The Horizon has a loyal fandom that is frequently expressive online over their satisfaction with every album, but not all musical output is destined to be a hit. A song without a music video, and one that barely makes it into any top-ranked lists, 'Seen It All Before' features on the band's fourth studio album 'Sempiternal'. On an album that would unleash some of their biggest hits like 'Shadow Moses', 'Sleepwalking', 'Go to Hell, for Heaven's Sake', and 'Can You Feel My Heart', this song felt a little underwhelming. Maybe it's the emo-touched notes consistently dipped into a drone that gives off a subconscious state of boredom, but it doesn't mean emo music can't hit deep or impact. The chorus is belted out and commanding enough if alone, maybe, yet is already defeated by surrounding structures that could have lifted it up or even distinctly contrasted it.

'Blasphemy'
This may be "blasphemy" to some hardcore fans, but 'Blasphemy' mixes in sounds that aren't welcomed by all metalheads. There's a fine line between adding a poppier sound and adding the sounds of pop. This track falls into the latter and if you were unaware of who wrote it when listening to it the first time, you may be unimpressed to actually find out who did, if you've loved the band for their original deathcore origins.
'Pray For Plagues'
We've included this not specifically as our worst, but as a fan-voted worst. Sitting right at the top of the list on the Rate Your Music page for the band, the single 'Pray For Plagues' has scored an average of 2.25 out of 5 with 96 ratings. You can watch the official music video below.
'Chelsea Smile'
Perhaps it's the boundless multitude of metalcore music in general, oftentimes yielding to harder sounds with a lack of distinct melody that can get monotonous. It doesn't mean to say that the genre or its subgenre is without melodic sounds but when you go more raw or proverbially "metal," its elements need to stand out from other songs, or it needs to impact harder. The grind is addicting to a point, and then songs need to adopt a distinct persona enough that descriptions about each iteration aren't blurred as almost the same by listeners or critics. That being said, in simple terms, 'Chelsea Smile' isn't as sonically thought-provoking as their other songs.
'The Sadness Will Never End'
Another song to get a low score on Rate Your Music, 'The Sadness Will Never End' gets an average of 2.92. The song has some killer drumming with beastly fills, there are several notable breaks, pauses or hooks, but the song's pessimistic title alone, along with lyrics that touch on suicidal themes, are elements that not all fans will find welcoming. Each to their own, of course, and negative-centered music can emit a brilliant light, but this track just doesn't quite hit the mark.
