DC FanDome 2020 | 'Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League' game sees Superman mind controlled by Brainiac

The makers of the 'Arkham' games bring forth an all new game, this one set in Metropolis, with a brainwashed Justice League

The Suicide Squad are not made up of the most dangerous villains in the world, but it might contain some of the most persistent. That persistence will do them good, as they're going up against one of the most dangerous enemies in existence - a Justice League that's been mind controlled by the villain Brainiac. It's time for the Suicide Squad to do what they do best: kill them all.

DC FanDome and Rocksteady have released the first trailer for 'Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,' featuring four of the Squad's most familiar characters - Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark and Captain Boomerang. The four are still working to take time off of their sentences, when an alien invasion and the mind control of certain heroes puts them very much between a Rocksteady and a hard place.

The future of gaming as far as DC is concerned appears to be four-player co-op. Earlier on August 22,  DC FanDome released a trailer for 'Gotham Knights,' which sees Red Hood, Batgirl, Nightwing and Robin team up to save Gotham after the death of Batman. The Suicide Squad is definitely the darker counterpart to the Gotham heroes, but both teams are working towards heroic ends - although the Suicide Squad have to be blackmailed into doing so with bombs implanted in their heads.

'Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League' is set in the same universe as the world-famous 'Arkham' series - meaning that characters featured in that series and the storylines that came out of it, will all be a part of the new video game as well as a sequel of sorts. This means that yes, the Harley Quinn featured in the previous three games is the same one who will be a playable character in this game. The plot, as far as the trailer implies, is simple: the Suicide Squad is fighting off an alien invasion as what appears to be Brainiac's ship looms over the city. The Squad's mission? To take down the Justice League - and the first hero they see is Superman, who appears to have been mind controlled by Brainiac's invasive technology.

Much like the detailed Arkham City that was featured in 'Arkham Knight' and 'Arkham City,' an all new detailed map will feature in the game, as the Squad goes to Metropolis. The game promises that Metropolis has been meticulously planned out to an extent that has never been seen in any medium before, as a "love letter" to the fan. The game will be available to play as both single-play and multiplayer - with all four main characters playable by the fans.
