'Dancing With The Stars' (DWTS) season 28: Sailor Brinkley saves the day with just hours of rehearsal after mother Christie breaks her arm
'Dancing With The Stars' season 28 premiered with an unfortunate revelation as Christie Brinkley's time on the DWTS stage came to an end even before it could begin. But luckily, she had her daughter Sailor Brinkley to step up and replace her with just hours of practice.
The series returned after a long hiatus, and even before the premiere, one of the contestants had an accident. Supermodel Christie who is known for her role in 'The Goldberg's' broke her arm during rehersals suffering injuries which resulted in her getting metal plates and screws. With just hours left for the premiere, her daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook took the place of her mother. Sailor, who is a model for Sports Illustrated, stepped to learn the entire routine. She will also compete in her mother's place for the rest of the season.
Sailor was paired with pro-partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy, and the duo did a Fox-trot routine to 'Uptown Girl'. Donning a white ball-gown, the pair blew the roof off with their performance. After they were done dancing, Sailor embraced her mother in an emotional hug. Christie was there to support her daughter and she looked beautiful in a red dress and a beige cast on her arm.
The judges raved about Sailor's performance. Carrie Ann said, "I am blown away." Adding to that Len Goodman said that though she had lovely movement, Sailor "needed a bit more body contact."
Taking to Twitter post their performance, fans gushed about Sailor's performance, especially with such little time on her hands. "Wow that was impressive! Who needs more than three days? Not Sailor. ;) #DWTS," wrote a fan.
Adding to that another fan said, "I think she did so good only 3 days of practice looking forward to seeing what they do with more practice." While another said, "Wow what an impressive dance and with only 3 days of practice. She was amazing."
"WOW!!! That was impressive!! Sailor only had three days of rehearsal! Great job Sailor! #DWTS," wrote another fan.
If Sailor could blow the roof off with just hours of rehearsal, we can't wait to see what the duo come up with next week when DWTS returns.
