Spoilers for ‘Criminal Record’ Season 1

LONDON, ENGLAND: ‘Criminal Record’ Episode 5 has officially dropped on Apple TV+, and this particular episode is bound to keep you on the edge of your seat.

While the social commentary surrounding racism continues in ‘Criminal Record’ Episode 5, there’s a bigger subplot involved as it includes June Lenker’s son, Jacob.

There’s police corruption and systematic racism displayed once again in ‘Criminal Record’, but this one might hit harder than the rest of the episodes. The pace of the Apple TV+ series has now picked up as things begin to get a lot more intense for Lenker, as well as for Daniel Hegarty as secrets continue to unravel.

Jacob becomes a target in ‘Criminal Record’ Episode 5

June Lenker is incredibly protective of her son, Jacob, in addition to being a loving mother, and this has been established in the first four episodes of ‘Criminal Record.’

In the most latest episode, which revolves around drugs and their possession, Jacob and some of his friends are stopped and pat down by cops, who find some drugs in Jacob’s backpack and immediately take him to the police station.

Jacob, who is clearly terrified and innocent is allowed to make three calls down at the police station, and after his mother doesn’t answer, he relies on his grandmother, but that backfires too. By now, the police have taken Jacob’s DNA and kept him in a cell.

Not too long after that Lenker is made aware of what has happened as she rushes down to the station, completely distraught and filled with anger and quickly manages to get her son back home safely, but the entire time, her mind is focused on Hegarty, and is convinced that he was behind the drugs in her son’s backpack.

June Lenker’s mother lands herself in A&E

If you thought Jacob being in a prison cell was June Lenker’s only problem in ‘Criminal Record’ Episode 5, then you were mistaken. In fact, it wasn’t even her only family-related problem in this episode.

While a lot is going on with Lenker and Daniel Hegarty in ‘Criminal Record’ Episode 5, the focus has briefly shifted to how everything has affected Lenker’s personal life.

After Lenker’s mother tries to go to the police station to bail her grandson out, she has an episode and lands herself in the hospital. So, after Lenker rescues her son, and then her mother, she sets out to unravel the truth, desperately wanting it all to end once and for all.

‘Criminal Record’ Episode 5 is now streaming on Apple TV+
