CMA Awards 2019: Luke Combs' fans confused after hearing singer allegedly get booed during his acceptance speech

After winning the Song of the Year award for his song 'Beautiful Crazy', Combs came up to the stage again to pick up his award for Male Vocalist of the Year. However, Combs may have been booed by some audience members during his acceptance speech for the second award.
UPDATED NOV 14, 2019

It's been a great year for country star Luke Combs and he topped it off by winning two big prizes at the 2019 Country Music Association Awards held in the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. After winning the Song of the Year award for his song 'Beautiful Crazy', Combs came up to the stage again to pick up his award for Male Vocalist of the Year. However, Combs may have been booed by some audience members during his acceptance speech for the second award and fans took to Twitter to express their outrage. Here are some of the tweets:

"I truly hope that @lukecombs was NOT getting boo'd during his well deserved acceptance speech! 🤔" - @breannalrush

"WHY THE HECK DID @lukecombs GET BOO'D AT HE SO TALENTED!? Tf" - @LittleBitt14

"Not cool booing Luke Combs like that! He got lots of hits!!! #CMAawards2019 #LukeCombs proud of you Luke!!" - @charlinklater

Not all of the fans are convinced that Combs was being booed at though. Some fans are still unsure whether what they heard were boos or just people yelling out "Luke", which honestly makes more sense seeing as there's really no reason anyone should be mocking such a talented artist during one of the biggest moments of his career. "Okay...I don’t think they were booing Luke Combs. That sounded like “Luuuuuke” to me." - @nikkitradio

"Okay was Luke Combs getting ‘booed’ or were people saying ‘Luuuuke’" - @carliew42

The Bridgestone Arena has since clarified that what the fans heard were not boos and the audience actually was yelling out "Luke". They cleared things up with a tweet saying, "Trust us, we’re pros in deciphering boos from the truth. On #CMAawards nights it’s “LUUUUUUKE” On some #Preds game nights depending on who’s in net it’s “JUUUUUUUSE” No boos in this building unless rival teams score."

Combs continues to be one of the brightest stars in the industry and we're sure there will be a lot more awards and accolades coming his way in future. Hopefully, people find something better to yell out for those ceremonies.
