Motley Crue to go ahead with 'Stadium Tour', but here's a list of artists who've canceled concerts this year
There are artists who have found ways to keep their fans entertained during the coronavirus lockdown and then there is Motley Crue.
The US has seen more than 90 percent of its population self-quarantined during the pandemic and some governors have suggested that music concerts won't be held until 2021. Despite the stay-at-home measures, Motley Crue, along with co-headliners Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett, are holding their own as they secured the scheduled dates for their massive upcoming tour titled 'The Stadium Tour'. The summer trek has been confirmed to kick off on June 18 in Jacksonville, Florida. The tour aims to still give their loyal fanbase a live show after they reached out to the bands for clarity on refunds after they already purchased tickets, according to Ultimate Classic Rock.
Motley Crue posted a photo from their Netflix biographical comedy-drama film 'The Dirt' on Instagram recently, along with a message for fans. "We wanna knock people on the asses, we gotta give them a show," they captioned the pic. One fan didn't take it too lightly, and said: "Cancel the tour already so your fans can get their money back" before reminding the band, "No tours are happening this year. Do the right thing. Bon Jovi did." The comment refers to the recent tour cancellation by Bon Jovi that was scheduled for 2020.
Motley Crue's response to the fan’s comment was, "Bands don't decide this. We await info as well."
On April 8, Motley Crue drummer Lee also confirmed the tour will go ahead as planned, saying, "Everything's still a go. We're all in constant communication. [Bassist] Nikki [Sixx] and I have been in several production meetings." He says, "You're talking multiple stadiums, so it's like two kids in a candy store putting together something people are going to walk [away from] saying, 'Are you f**king kidding me?!' That's our mission right now, and it's definitely headed in that direction."

Bon Jovi
Bon Jovi's new album 'Bon Jovi 2020' will be releasing a new LP, 'Bon Jovi 2020' on May 15, and the tour in support of the album was scheduled to launch in June. The album is still expected to arrive on time and it will mark Bon Jovi’s first studio album since 2016’s 'This House Is Not for Sale', according to Rolling Stone.
The band spoke about their tour cancellation in a statement. “Due to the ongoing global pandemic, it is no longer feasible for Bon Jovi to tour this summer,” they said. “Given these difficult times, we have made the decision to cancel the tour entirely. This will enable ticketholders to get refunds to help pay their bills or buy groceries."
They added, "These are trying times. You’ve always been there for us and we’ll always be there for you. We look forward to seeing everyone again on tour when we can all safely be together. We will continue to send out news and updates on Bon Jovi touring in the weeks and months to come.”
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift also canceled all her tours for 2020. According to Billboard, an official statement says, "Fighting COVID-19 is an unprecedented challenge for our global community and the safety and wellbeing of fans should always be the top priority. Health organizations and governments around the world have strongly discouraged large public gatherings for an undetermined period of time."
The statement continues, "With many events throughout the world already canceled, and upon direction from health officials in an effort to keep fans safe and help prevent the spread of COVID-19, sadly the decision has been made to cancel all Taylor Swift live appearances and performances this year. The U.S. and Brazil shows will be rescheduled to take place in 2021, with dates to be announced later this year."
Camila Cabello
Camila Cabello has postponed her tour in support of her December-released sophomore LP 'Romance'. The tour was scheduled to begin on May 26 in Oslo, Norway.
In a loving message on Instagram, the songstress wrote, "I'm truly heartbroken to say that we've decided we need to postpone the tour... we can't start rehearsals without putting people at risk and with so much up in the air with no real and definitive end in sight, I feel this is the responsible thing to do (sic)." She said she promises she will "see you and cuddle your faces off when it's safe and this all passes," adding that she was working on a tour that was "really magical and special."
Harry Styles
Harry Styles has postponed the European leg of his "Love On Tour" to 2021.
With a poster of new dates shared on his Instagram, Styles wrote, "Anyone who knows me, knows that performing has always been my favorite part of working in music. However, during times like these, the safety and protection of touring crew, fans, and everyone else around the world is an immediate priority."
He ended his message with a message of solidarity, saying, "For the safety of yourself and others, please self-isolate. We’re all in this together" and added, "I can’t wait to see you out on the road as soon as it’s safe to do so. Until then, treat people with kindness. H."
Justin Bieber
The 25-year-old Canadian pop singer has indefinitely postponed all currently scheduled 2020 dates for the “Changes” Tour, including a pair of stops in Northern California at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento on May 19 and Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on May 22.
The tour was scheduled to kick off in Seattle on May 14 and close September 26 in East Rutherford, N.J., marking Bieber’s first major outing since 2016. Fans have been asked to hold on to their tickets, as they will be honored once the dates are rescheduled.
