Release date

According to the band's Twitter, the album is just around the corner, dropping on March 15 at 7 pm KST / 6 am EST.

Who is Ciipher?

Ciipher is the very first boy group to debut under Rain Company, the new agency founded by South Korean singer-songwriter, actor and music producer Rain. The group consists of seven members, including Tan, Hwi, Hyunbin, Keita, Tag, Dohwan and Won.

Preparation for the debut of the group has been three years in the making. The boys have been training hard and polishing their act and, finally, fans will now get a chance to hear their music.

About selecting the members for the first group to be signed under his agency, Rain said, "There were a lot of factors involved in the process of making Ciipher, but when I met these kids, I felt like I could bet it all on them. Not just my time or my skill, but all the things I had and have made," according to International Bussines Times. "Whether the group has good results or not, I don't think I'll regret the things that I gave to this group. That's how talented and well-mannered they are."

Ciipher members have all had notable experience in music before joining the group. Tan competed on the Mnet reality show 'No.Mercy' in 2014. Keita and Dohwan were former contestants on YG's 'Treasure Box'. Won was a contestant on 'Under Nineteen' and in 2019, he debuted as a member of 1the9, but the group disbanded in August last year. Hynbin was a former contestant on 'Produce X 101' under Starship Entertainment. Read more about the group in the RELATED ARTICLES above.

Rain himself produced the idol group, and he has previously made appearances on various shows with them, including 'Master in the House' and 'Weekly Idol'.

Concept

While less is known about Ciipher's overall style of music, the group has a fan in Kim Tae Hee, who is also the wife of Rain. Insiders also reported that Kim Tae Hee was humming along with CIIPHER’s debut track while filming her part of the music video and constantly praised the group.

From the few bars we've heard in a recent teaser, the title track “I Like You” opens with a vibrant island guitar riff and bursts into a trap beat hook. Members Tag and Keita participated in the production of the song.

In the music video, it is reported that the Ciipher members will be watching television, and Kim Tae Hee will appear on the television screen. They will fall for the actress after seeing her on TV and try their best to win her over. Check out the teaser below.
