'He looks like a skeleton': Internet slams Chris Martin's bizarre eating habit inspired by Bruce Springsteen
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Looks like ‘Coldplay’ frontman Chris Martin and his former wife Gwyneth Paltrow have something in common - their affinity towards diet choices which can be called questionable at best. On the ‘Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend’ podcast of March 21, the ‘Yellow’ crooner admits to not having dinner, quite infamously.
The ‘Times Like These’ singer shared, "I don't actually have dinner anymore," before explaining, "I stop eating at four, and I learned that from having lunch with Bruce Springsteen. That's really true." Martin revealed that during a lunch with Bruce Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa in June of 2022, he acquired this trait from his boss. The ‘Heaven’ hitmaker reveals that he found the 73-year-old 'E Street Band' frontman in a better shape than his, "I was on a really strict diet anyway, but I was like, 'Bruce looks even more in shape than me.'" When Springsteen’s wife revealed that “He's only eating one meal a day,” it encouraged him to try the diet. “So I was like, 'Well, there we go. There's my next challenge,'" revealed the seven times Grammy Award winner.

In the podcast, Martin didn't, however, share his diet routine. But in 2016 in an interview with Fresh 102.7, Martin, like his ex-wife Paltrow, admitted to being a supporter of fasting. "I fast once a week, yeah, one day a week," shared the Brit Awards winner. He further divulged, "This guy said to me, ‘Try not eating for a day, it will make your body feel healthier,' and I did it and I found I could sing a bit better, and also I felt so grateful for food," reports ABCNews.
Gwyneth Paltrow 'loves' bone broth
Martin's ex-wife, the 'Shark Tank' guest judge, says on Dear Media's podcast 'The Art of Being Well' that she is an ardent follower of intermittent fasting and has some food during lunch "that won't spike her blood sugar." The Oscar-winning actress further shared, "I love soup ... I have bone broth for a lot of the days," for which she was heavily criticized.
The Goop founder also admitted that she is a lover of 'ketone drinks'. Talking about its benefits, the Marvel veteran said, "It helps with cognition and brain fog and energy. I have it with green tea in the afternoon. It tastes pretty, pretty bad."
'Sounds like disordered eating'
Martin's food habit elicited an array of reactions from the netizens with one even joking, "I know this is an insane guy diet thing but I prefer to believe that it's because Bruce is always knocking lunch trays out of Chris Martin's hands like a high school bully." However, others were not so lenient as Martin received flak from the netizens. While another user commented, "This must be the reason he looks like a skeleton," which mirrored the comments Paltrow received for her "bone broth" diet. "It’s quite amazing how male eating disorders are complete normalised," mused another.
