LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Chris Hemsworth garnered worldwide recognition while playing the God of Thunder in the ‘Thor’ movie franchise and became a household name. Since then, he has been a part of several high-end ventures and established himself as one of the biggest action movie stars. One of the movies that enthralled viewers was 2020’s ‘Extraction’ in which Hemsworth can be seen playing a black-market mercenary who is hired to rescue the son of an imprisoned international crime lord. The movie became a huge hit and it was announced that the actor will return for the sequel as well. As we move closer to the release date, Hemsworth is opening up about the action sequences he is doing for the upcoming movie and didn’t shy away from saying that the stunts in ‘Extraction 2’ are better than what he has done in Marvel films.

While talking about the highly-anticipated sequel, the 39-year-old actor spilled the beans on the second movie in the franchise and noted that the stunts he did for the upcoming movie were “so satisfying” as compared to Marvel. But why does he say that? Let’s find out.

In an interview given to Entertainment Weekly, Hemsworth praised the director Sam Hargrave, who has worked as a stunt coordinator in the past, for coming up with the movie’s extraordinary action sequences. According to the actor, the stunt work he has done in the upcoming film was extremely satisfying because of how real they felt. He also noted that the preparation is much more “extensive” in filming such grounded action sequences as compared to Marvel movies where most of the work is done post-production.

“There’s something so satisfying about that. Not to take anything away from the special-effects-filled sort of Marvel film, but you have a lot of help in post-production there. Obviously, I can’t fly, so they help me with that. Whereas in this film, the action is grounded in reality, and so much of it is on camera. So, it’s a different energy, and the preparation is a lot more extensive,” Hemsworth said during the interview.

‘Extraction 2’ is undoubtedly one of the highly-anticipated movies of 2023 because of how the first movie ended with a massive cliffhanger. In the first movie (spoilers ahead), Hemsworth’s character Tyler Rake is successful in rescuing the boy from the crime lord living in Bangladesh. In the process, he gets shot in the neck and falls down into the river. It is indicated that Rake has lost his life while saving the child, but in the ending moments of the movie, we see a man watching over the boy from a distance who resembles Rake.
It will be interesting to see how makers will handle the situation and give us an explanation of how Rake survived the deadly situation.

Netflix and the Russo Brothers, who served as producers on the first movie, will be hoping to get a thunderous response from the public once again. The first movie turned out to be Netflix’s most-watched movie and was seen by over 90 million households in the first 28 days of its release.
