'I've had the slow decline in text responses': Chris Evans reveals he has been rejected via text messages
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Who thought the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ Chris Evans could be rejected by a potential lover, that too through text messages? In a recent interview, the ‘Captain America’ star revealed that he was once at the receiving end of rejection in what would seem like a failed prospective relationship.
When the ‘Ghosted’ actor was asked whether he was ever ghosted in real life, he replied, to many of his fans’ chagrin, that he has “had the slow decline in text responses.” "I feel I've experienced something much worse," said the 41-year-old heartthrob.

In the interview with People, the Marvel star revealed, "I think I'd prefer being ghosted because you can make up any story you want. I've had the slow decline in text responses, and you just know the person is pushing you aside casually,” before explaining his method of coping up, "You tell yourself a story, whatever you have to do to get by.”
Chris Evans on relationships, partners, and more
In People’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ cover story, Evans previously revealed what he finds most attractive in a partner, "Confidence. Not so much what's on the outside, but your sense of self. To know and love yourself and be comfortable with who we are," before adding, "You can feel it when someone has it. I'm not saying I do, I hate myself, [laughs] so I fooled you all."
The ‘Knives Out’ star, who is dating Alba Baptista for more than a year, also added that he values “vulnerability and humility” in a relationship, saying, "I don't like to argue, I don't like to raise my voice or any forms of manipulation. I think declarations of love are great; I love love. I'm a bit of a sap like that. I like being sentimental, I cry pretty easily. At a good song, nice sunset, yeah, my emotions are bubbling."
"You spend a lot of time learning what's been helpful and what hasn't been. We all have patterns, hang-ups or baggage that repeat and echo, so I've really been able to kind of identify where I need improvement and what works,” said the ‘Gifted’ actor.
Chris Evans on children
The Boston native who is in love with love also loves the idea of having children. Once he told USA Today, “I definitely want children. I definitely want a family. But you cannot put the cart before the horse,” before adding, “The family only works if it’s built off the extension of the love you feel for a person. If you all of a sudden want the kid more than you want the relationship, you may be on shaky ground.”
