Chris Evans reveals on 'The Tonight Show' he may have given Jimmy Fallon his debut acting gig
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Talk shows are fun and entertaining and bring out many exciting secrets. For instance, Chris Evans might be the reason for Jimmy Fallon's immense success as a talk show host. Evans was on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' to discuss his latest Apple TV+ movie 'Ghosted' and revealed that he was the one who gave Fallon his first acting gig back in 1998.
During the interview, Jimmy Fallon started to thank former Marvel Superhero for his debut role in 'Spin City'. Chris then shared that 'Spin City' is where he was interning in the casting office for the production and asked Jimmy questionably if he was the reason for Fallon's first acting gig, he said, "That is where I interned in the casting office around the same time," adding: "Did I give you your first job?" To which Fallon thanked Evans and owed his entire career to him.

'I feel like I owe my whole career to you'
After Chris Evans revealed that he was the intern in the casting office of 'Spin City', Jimmy Fallon thanked him for his entire career and said, "I feel like I owe my whole career to you. I remember I was nervous. I went in. I read for this role as a photographer number one or something. And I walked in and I didn't do anything that special so I'm like, 'I'm not gonna get this.'" Fallon then gestured his hands up at Evans, in a praising way and said, "You did it!"
'It's a humbling experience'
Chris Evans then went on to share his own experience working as an intern in the casting office and shared how brutal it was, and how the entire experience made him quite humble. He further stated how it was almost like fate when he saw Jimmy's headshot and just had a feeling about him "having something special," he said, "It's a humbling experience, though. You come into your job on a Monday after an audition goes out... So you show up at your desk. You got a stack of envelopes from all these agents in town. And your boss comes in, and I don't want to get anybody in trouble... My old boss would pluck out two or three envelopes and I threw the rest in the trash. She just chucked them. And you were just like, 'Wow. This industry is brutal.'" Evans then joked that he saw Fallon's portfolio in the pile and thought, "This guy's got something."
Back in 2016, Evans shared the application letter that he used to send to the casting directors on Twitter and captioned it with, "Wow. My dad found the letter I sent to DOZENS of casting directors during my junior year. Hilarious. #bestsummerever"
