Following the recent release of Carly Rae Jepsen's new record 'Dedicated Side B', a collection of outtakes from last year's 'Dedicated', it seems the 'I Really Like You' singer has more in store for fans. In a similar fashion to Charli XCX, who released a DIY album under quarantine, Jepsen has apparently written and recorded a new album in its entirety while social-distancing at home during the pandemic.

Jepsen first shared that she has been working on new music in an interview with The Guardian on May 22. “Writing songs over Zoom has been an interesting challenge,” she said, adding, “I’ve been working with Tavish Crowe — luckily we’ve been collaborators for years, so we really know each other well."

"We have our own little baby quarantine album by now. When I don’t have an album immediately due, I just allow myself to experiment. If you heard what we were making you’d be like, ‘every song sounds completely different’ — and that’s the point," she revealed.

Jepsen also confirmed the little baby quarantine project has is now full-fledged into "an entire quarantine album" in an additional interview on the 'Switched On Pop' podcast. "It is very different, it's kind of fun," she said.

"We had to do it around Zoom or things like that so it’s been like a challenge but a really fun one! You kind of write differently that way," she explained, adding, "You have more time to have space in between the decisions you’re making and more time to kind of be away from the song for a minute, so I find it to be a whole new style of going at it, and I like it.”

Fans on Twitter who have already declared Charli's quarantine album as "a masterpiece" are deeming the same result with Jepsen's new music, saying, "Another masterpiece incoming" and exclaiming, "the talent omg."

Fans can't hold their excitement: "OMG WE NEED IT RIGHT NOW" wrote a fan while another said, "Legend release it we need it (sic)." Several fans are also ongoingly loyal to their favorite pop singer and described her as "underrated." One fan shared, "Carly is so underrated and overlooked it hurts" and another said, "pop underrated queen." A fan also called her "pop genius."
