Following a mystery teaser, Cardi B announced on August 3 that she is collaborating with Megan Thee Stallion on a new track. The new song, titled 'WAP' is dropping on August 7.

Cardi B took to her Instagram to make the announcement and share the cover art. "Single droppin this Friday! WAP feat. @theestallion #Wap," she wrote alongside the pic which features the pair of rappers looking like identical twins, both with their tongues out, wearing the same make-up, earrings, and hair that has been woven together to form the center of the cover.

The news follows after Cardi B's teaser clip she shared on August 3 with her appearing in gigantic blonde waves and a black mesh one-piece lingerie and saying, "I GOT A ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE TOMORROW! Byeee." 'WAP' also confirms that previous reports of them collaborating together are true.

Although the reactions on her latest Instagram post for 'WAP' have been positive with comments like "2 queens of rap" and "HELL YEAH!!!!" and "Yes yes yes!!! Can't wait!!!" fans on Twitter don't seem to be too happy with the upcoming collaboration.

"LITERALLY NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS CARDI LEAVE MEGAN ALONE," said a fan.

Another wrote, "We will be steaming for meg only."

"To stream or not to stream???" asked an unsure fan to which another replied, "not to we've been betrayed."

One fan says, "Megan we were rooting for you."

Another fan wrote, "Megan probably wrote the whole song including farti’s verse."

One of the main reasons fans are surprised that the two are collaborating is because there have been rumors of tension between Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B in the past. Fans have made claims that they've seen either Cardi and Stallion throwing shots at the other but that has continuously been debunked. Both rappers have also maintained that they don't have any form of beef with each other.

Back in April, Megan refuted the rumors when a fan tweeted that she’d liked a shady YouTube comment about the “Bodak Yellow” rapper. “I did not like no damn stupid a** comment like this. I don’t even upload my own s**t to my YouTube my label does,” she wrote at the time. In a follow-up tweet, she stressed: “I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ANYBODY. I don’t like drama I do not bring other females down stop trying to start fake beef."

'WAP' will mark the first time that Megan and Cardi have worked together on a song. It will also mark Stallion's first release since making headlines earlier this month. She recently revealed she was shot in both feet on the night of Tory Lanez's arrest. Stallion never disclosed that it was Lanez who shot her, but many people close to her have accused him of doing it. Stallion may need more time to recover, but as a true artiste, she cannot stay away from her musical canvas.
