'Captain Marvel 2': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about Brie Larson-starrer sequel
'Captain Marvel 2' is happening and fans just have to wait till 2022 to see the return of Brie Larson's snarky superhero. Megan McDonnell, who served as a staff writer on the series 'WandaVision', had also written the script for 'Captain Marvel 2'. While Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck will not return for the sequel, Nia DaCosta will take on the reins of the film, and is the first Black female MCU director.

'Captain Marvel 2' is slated to release on November 11, 2022.
Plot details
The sequel will take place in "the present day," which means the present-day of the current MCU. The events of 'Avengers: Endgame' took place in 2023, so in all probability, Carol Danvers's latest adventure would be seen in that year as well. Though Carol did not have much of a role in 'Endgame', she was present during the final showdown with Thanos (Josh Brolin) and helped in restoring peace to the universe. In the first film, Carol struggled to remember her identity, as she was thrown in the war between the Skrulls and Krees. She learns about her past and embraces her powers as Captain Marvel.

Brie Larson
Brie Larson's breakthrough came with a leading role in the film 'Short Term 12' (2013), and she received much praise for her supporting roles in the romance 'The Spectacular Now' (2013) and the comedy 'Trainwreck' (2015). She received the Academy Award for Best Actress in the film 'Room', where she played a kidnapping victim.
Samuel L Jackson
Jackson has played Nick Fury in several of the Marvel films, and was also present in 'Captain Marvel'. It is uncertain whether he will reprise his role in the sequel yet.
Creators
The film will be directed by Nia DaCosta, who is taking over from Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. DaCosta is known for work in 'Candyman' and 'Little Woods'.
