If you love 'The Big Bang Theory', you'll be happy to see Mayim Bialik back on screen. The Emmy Award nominee stars as Kat in FOX's ‘Call Me Kat’ and the summary of the first episode reads: "Kat's former crush and good friend returns to town."

Based on BBC's 'Miranda', the show revolves around a woman — still single at 39 — who struggles against societal norms and her mom to live a happy life. In the first episode, we find out how she spent all her savings to open a cat café in Louisville, KY. She works with Randi (Kyla Pratt) — a confident millennial and self-proclaimed “non” cat person — and Phil (Leslie Jordan) — who is going through a recent break-up.

Who is Max?

While she adores her independence, things change when her former crush and friend, Max (Cheyenne Jackson), steps into town. What is Max doing there? Apparently, he returns to town and takes a job as a bartender right across the street, along with his friend, Carter (Julian Grant). Will that spice up Kat's life soon? Kat's mother Sheila (Swoosie Kurtz) will be happy to see a new man enter her life, won't she? As of now, she sees her daughter’s single-hood as her own personal failure.

Talking about her love interest on the show, Mayim Bialik wrote, "Cheyenne is such a perfect MAX - he's charming, goofy, playful, and his kind heart is reflected in his kind smile!" Will Kat fall in love with Max? Well, only time will tell.

Meet the kitty

Talking about the kitty, Bialik posted, "I have been a fan of Swoosie since 'Sisters' - I never dreamed she would do this because she's such a BIG STAR!!! She's super game for all of our off-camera antics and she is warm and friendly and sharp as all get out!!!"

In another tweet, she wrote, "None of the cats on our set are tethered or drugged. We do a LOT of takes to catch them sometimes. And sometimes we have to "cut a cat out" of a scene because of excessive meowing or wanting to run around." And added, "It's awesome for a cat lover like me to watch the cat circus every week!!! And yes, of course, I have a favorite, but I'll let you guess as the season goes on!"

Kat's quirks

"Kat always wears LOTS of accessories. Every outfit has new earrings and bracelets and she typically wears 3 rings at a minimum. Also, necklaces about every other outfit. We like to accessorize her! #CallMeKat," one tweet read and another said, "We wanted Kat's style to be casual and quirky. Beth Morgan has struck a great balance between working "normal" gal and funky eccentric gal I think!"

The episode aired on Sunday, January 3, from 8 pm ET to 8.30 pm ET on FOX.
