BTS fastest group to land 5 No.1 albums on Billboard 200 after The Beatles, fans say 'they're always first'

The Beatles earned their first five No. 1s in just under one year and five months, between 'Meet the Beatles!' (February 15, 1964) and 'Beatles VI' (July 10, 1965)

ARMY, the boys have done it again: BTS have broken yet another significant record this week as they landed a spot on the Billboard 200 chart. After grabbing themselves a Grammy nomination earlier this week, the K-pop boy band has earned the crown on the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1 for the fifth time.

Billboard made the announcement on November 29, stating that it was BTS' latest project, 'BE', that landed the No. 1 spot on Billboard 200. The 'BE' album garnered 242,000 equivalent album units during the week ending on November 26. The complete tally consisted of 177,000 traditional album sales, 35,000 track equivalent album (TEA) units, and 30,000 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units, which translates to 48.56 million on-demand audio streams in the LP's first week.

With their fifth album entering the chart at No. 1, BTS is the first and only Korean artist to top the Billboard 200 chart with five studio albums. It took the group just two years and six months to achieve this incredible feat. BTS’s first No. 1 on the chart started with 'Love Yourself: Tear' in June 2018, followed by 'Love Yourself: Answer', 'Map of the Soul: Persona', and the recent iteration, 'Map of the Soul: 7'. BTS is now the first group to land two different albums at No. 1 on the chart in 2020, and only the second artist overall (following rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again). 'BE' is the eleventh non-English album in history to get a No. 1 spot on the chart — five out of those eleven are BTS albums.

The last group to get five number-ones on the sought-after US Billboard chart was The Beatles, whose No. 1 streak was scored in about two years and five months with the LP 'Yesterday and Today' (July 30, 1966) and the self-titled album often referred to as the 'White Album' (December 28, 1968). The Beatles earned their first five No. 1s in just under one year and five months, between 'Meet the Beatles!' (February 15, 1964) and 'Beatles VI' (July 10, 1965).

The last individual act to accumulate five number-ones quicker was Future, who tallied the achievement in just over one year and seven months (from 'DS2' on August 8, 2015, through 'HNDRXX' on March 18, 2017).

A proud ARMY have been quick to share their excitement on Twitter. "2020 is gonna be one of the most successful years for bts," declares a fan while another writes, "They really make it seem so easy. So proud of them, their hard work and tenacity pays off. What ppl don't recognise, ARMY does." One fan says, "This is what hardwork and dedication brings!!"

"They made so much impact not only to music industry but to everyone who listens to their song I'm so proud of them." "ALWAYS THE FIRST AND ONLY," expressed another fan.
