BTS has done it again! Surpassing another notable career milestone during the late hours of October 4, the South Korean boy band reached 1.1B views on YouTube for their hit track 'DNA'. At roughly 6.30 pm EST, the song hit the 1.1B mark, making it the first music video by a Korean boy group to achieve such a milestone.

BTS ARMY were quick to share their support for their favorite band with one fan commenting, "as it should". Another said, "YEAHHHHH SMASH HIT" and one more said, "DNA is so lovely."

One fan said, "See this is what happens when you are kings," while another wrote, "P. R. O. U. D."

One fan added, "Actually they are the first Korean group to achieve this without ads so this is actually organic."

One Twitter user, who isn't an avid fan, supported the news of their achievement, saying, "I'm not one of them fans, but because of this song I have followed their music development up to now."

One ardent fan said, "I am proud of my IDOL....being a fan of their is the best decision i made in my life your hardworking spirit taake you this far BTS..... Hope more success for you all." Another said, "I'm proud of them also this was the first BTS song I had heard, so it'll always be special for me."

It was earlier reported that BTS hit the 1B milestone in June, meaning the addition of 1M views was achieved in a matter of a few months. 'DNA' was also released in 2017, so the music video has notably skyrocketed in fame in 2020.

The only other music videos by Korean artists to achieve as much success are 'Gangnam Style' and 'Gentleman' by PSY and Blackpink's 'Ddu-Du Ddu-Du'. 'Gangnam Style' currently has 3.8B views on YouTube, 'Gentleman' has 1.3B and 'Ddu-Du Ddu-Du' is also at 1.3B.

It took just over three years for BTS' 'DNA' to surpass 1.1B views on YouTube and it looks like their latest hit track 'Dynamite' could soon achieve just as much popularity. 'Dynamite' premiered on August 21 and is currently at 441M views, which means it is very likely to reach 1B even after being released nearly a month-and-a-half ago. Make it happen, ARMY!

Apart from the achievement on YouTube, 'DNA' has also seen massive commercial success since its release. 'DNA' landed in Billboard lists of greatest boy band songs of all time and 100 best songs of 2017. The song also became the first-place winner on various South Korean weekly music programs. It won a total of 10 music show awards including a "triple crown" (three consecutive wins) on both Music Bank and Inkigayo. The song also achieved five consecutive Melon Weekly Popularity Awards due to its substantial success on digital platforms. Congratulations, BTS.
