BTS Army did not hesitate at all to remind SM Entertainment that the term Golden Maknae was only meant for BTS’ Jungkook

SM Entertainment recently shared their year-end report on Twitter where they labeled their bands NCT and Aespa as “Golden Maknaes” a term that is frequently associated with BTS member Jungkook. Chaos ensued as BTS Army stormed Twitter to slam BTS’ rival SM Entertainment for pulling this cheap stunt. For the unversed, the term “maknae” in Korean means the youngest person in any given group.
 
BTS Army did not hesitate at all to drag SM Entertainment on the micro-blogging site as they reminded them the term Golden Maknae was only meant for BTS’ Jungkook. A few also tweeted an old video where BTS’ RM, whose real name is Kim Namjoon, had given the nickname to his fellow bandmate. SM Entertainment had also faced heat from BTS Army in November after they used an animation very similar to that of the character of BTS’ rapper, J-Hope, in one of their advertisements.

Who coined the term 'Golden Maknae' for Jungkook?

The loyal fans of BTS shared an old video where RM can be seen sitting with Jungkook interacting with their fans. In the video, RM admits to giving the nickname “Golden Maknae” to Jungkook jokingly adding that “he is not using this nickname” concluding “he is not used to it.” However, down the years, the term is unofficially linked to Jungkook’s name.
 
Since BTS’ Jungkook is the youngest in the group, he ideally got the nickname for it. He made his debut in the iconic K-pop squad in the year 2013 when he was just 15 years old. He is known for his multiple skills like singing, rapping, songwriter. He also earns praises for being a talented athlete, artist, gamer, and filmmaker. BTS member V is the second youngest in the group. Speaking of nicknames, other members too get labeled with their unique terms. Jin has been called “worldwide handsome” whereas, J-hope is called “Angel” by his fans.

BTS Army took on SM Entertainment’s latest claim as one loyal fan said, “How they manage to steal the phrase golden maknae too like WHAT HAPPENED TO ORIGINALITY???” Another fan got furious and stated, “Golden Maknae" is coined by namjoon for junkook but then again the only thing SM is good at is stealing and copying and OH being obsessed with bts.” The next one posted, “Golden Maknae Trending Worldwide you know why because the title belongs to one and only... Jungkook!”
 
One individual posted, “MFs can’t even be original anymore… call her the “subpar sister” or something- just leave golden maknae alone for once.” The next one shared, “Jungkook is the standard. Everyone wants what he has so badly.. But bad for them, there is only one Jeon Jungkook.. Golden maknae title belongs to Jungkook and Jungkook only..there is only one golden maknae and that is Jeon Jungkook. Even google knows it. Meanwhile, one user tweeted, “NO NO NO THIS MUST BE HANDLED LEGALLY. Golden maknae trademarked to #JUNGKOOK and jungkook only. Dont be second rate trying card copycats #goldenmaknaeJUNGKOOK PLEASE REMOVE ANY ARTICLE WITH SUCH HEADING. Goldenmaknae trademarked.” Another said, “Lit be known that the title “Golden Maknae” was created by Kim Namjoon for Jeon Jungkook and Jeon Jungkook only.” While, one concluded, “I know SM is always obsessed with 875 movement. Golden maknae will always be a nickname for jungkook. Same f**king s**t goes to "borahae" you stupid bi**hes.”
