Henry’s body was found dead at New York City Park on Friday morning, December 23. The Spuyten Duyvil resident had been stabbed multiple times, in addition to having his neck slashed.
According to the New York Post, Henry was a pediatric emergency medicine physician in the Bronx and is affiliated with the Children’s Hospital New Orleans as well as Nyack Hospital. He was found unconscious and was not responsive at around 2.15 am in Manhattan on a stairway near 120th Street in Marcus Garvey Park. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the EMS shortly before 3.00 am.
“That was him? Ugh! I have known him for a long time. It’s got to be 10 years or maybe more. Since I’d known him, everything was all good. That’s kind of rough, wow!”, the shocked building resident told the police who arrived at the building area to verify the deceased doctor's address.
The cops were told by the workers that they had seen him a day earlier. Pointing out that the doctor had been living alone, a resident recalled that the doctor was casually dressed as he drove out of the garage when he saw him.
Henry “worked long hours at the hospital” and “was always traveling,” said the resident who then told the cops that “there were times like he was working at the hospital. He’ll come driving in like really early in the morning and I’ve seen him walk into the garage with his hospital gear and stuff on."
Horrified at the tragic incident, the resident further said, “It sucks. It really does. Nobody wants to hear stuff like this around any holiday, especially Christmas. Nobody deserves to die like that, especially not him. This person [the suspect] is a sicko, man.”
With the firm belief that the murderer will be caught, the resident stated, "this person or group of persons that did this to him, they are going to get them. They are going to nab them. They have cameras all over the place.”
MEAWW previously reported that fatal stabbings and slashings have reportedly escalated in number by an alarming 37% in New York City as compared to 2021 amid the increase in major crimes. So far in 2022, NYPD has logged 96 blade-involved as compared to 70 killings in 2021 recorded during the same period.
