LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: DC Comics' biggest prize, ‘Superman’, is a gift that keeps on giving. No matter how many movies or comics or animated series are out in the world, there is always room for more, especially for the fans of Superman. But it's been a while since a new Superman movie has been released and the fans are desperate. James Gunn, the co–CEO of DC Studios, is working on a new Superman movie called ‘Superman Legacy’ which the filmmaker will be writing and directing.

This news is pure solace for all the fans who had been dying for a Superman film, which they thought would never arrive. But meanwhile, actors are vying for different versions of Superman in the DC Cinematic universe. The Superman of Kingdom Come is a fictional character, an alternate version of Superman in the DC Comics universe, which is now trending because of one man -- Bruce Campbell -- and all of it started because of a tweet by a fan.

What does Bruce Campbell want?

Bruce Campbell is known for his roles in the 'Evil Dead' franchise while also making cameos in Marvel movies because of his close friendship with director Sam Raimi, known for making the first Spiderman film and Doctor Strange and Multiverse of Madness recently.

Campbell saw a tweet from a fan asking DC Studios to contact Campbell for a Kingdom Come project with an image of Superman attached to the tweet. Campbell was excited and re-tweeted by captioning, "DM-ing my number,” throwing the ball in DC’s court to make a move. Campbell has already been a part of the DC universe as Bill Church Jr on ‘Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.’ Approaching DC to play an alternate version of Superman is a bold step, even for Campbell, especially when he played another iconic character of ‘Elvis Presley’ in a 2002 movie named ‘Bubba Ho-Tep.’

Is ‘Superman Kingdom Come’ really happening?

The ‘Kingdom Come’ project is not confirmed to be part of the future DC Universe slate but DC does have an exciting slate of future options for its fans. The slate includes movies like 'Superman: Legacy', 'The Brave, and the Bold', 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow', 'Swamp Thing', and 'The Authority'. There will also be HBO Max television shows such as 'Waller', 'Booster Gold', 'Lanterns', 'Paradise Lost', and an animated 'Creature Commandos' series for the fans to get their hands dirty with.
