'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 7 Episode 12: Fans claim Holt's gone full John Wick looking for his 'fluffy boy'

Spoilers for 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 7 Episode 12 'Ransom'

A whole other rattled side of Captain Raymond Hold was what we got to see in the latest episode (April 16) of 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 7, for which due credit should go only on Andre Braugher. Holt comes unhinged when his precious fluffy boy gets kidnapped and is held hostage for the titular 'Ransom' of police files from May 2004. So he does what he feels is needed and relies on Jake first, but then follows what fans are touting is a 'John Wick' style path to engage in crazy car chases to bring his 'fluffy boy' home, while he may or may not have referred to Jake as his fluffy boy too.

After Cheddar gets kidnapped and the abductor demands police files from the past, Jake thinks it could be a good idea to dress up as Kevin, Holt's husband, and retrieve their fluffy boy from this episode's villain. Of course, the plan fails and the kidnapper ends up busting Jake and forces him to travel to an unknown location, all the while holding him at gunpoint. Since Jake was wearing Kevin's clothes that had Cheddar's tracker attached, Holt and Kevin follow him to where he's being hostage and thus starts a charged up high-octane action between Holt and the kidnapper as the newly reinstated captain kicks some major ass. He fights, he punches, he even jumps on a moving car's roof to retrieve his good boys, all the while claiming how the kidnapper "took the wrong fluffy boy!"

Considering Jake is also kidnapped at this point, it's hard to deduce who exactly is the fluffy boy anymore. But in the end, they are able to retrieve Cheddar safely, and that's a win-win with the fandom who can't stop gushing about how Holt's compassionate attempt resembles Keanu Reeves' arc from the 2014 action flick 'John Wick' where we saw the titular character go berserk after mobsters kill a puppy that was the last present from his deceased wife. Taking it to Twitter, fans touted how "Holt has gone full John Wick."

Admiring the sheer brilliance in his arc this episode, fans also shared: "'Someone took our fluffy boy! - Holt going all John Wick over Cheddar is what I need."

Another fan admitted: "Tonight, I don’t think I have ever loved Holt anymore than we ever could’ve had. Not even Taken or John Wick could’ve done what Holt did! And it was all for Cheddar!"

Other remarks followed the lines of "Who needs #JohnWick when you got #RaymondHolt giving the beat down on that punk!" and "That was one of the best fight scenes ever. John Wick got nothing on Holt. Fight me."

Too bad Holt probably doesn't know there's already a movie based on what he did tonight but that's alright. That's the charm of him after all.

'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 7 airs on Thursdays at 8:30 pm on NBC.
