Brody Jenner and Kristin Cavallari relationship timeline: How 'The Hills' co-stars went from dating to faking it
When it comes to reality TV, both Kristin Cavallari and Brody Jenner know their way around keep fans invested. They had everyone at the edge of their seats with their relationship during 'The Hills,' but unfortunately, their love wasn't meant to last. Or so it seems.
While they both have gone their separate ways since then, there might just a chance for romance between the couple once again, on the new season of 'The Hills: New Beginnings.'

They dated before joining 'The Hills'
Cavallari and Jenner go way back, seeing that the two of them knew each other since their teens. Cavallari met Jenner through one of her 'Laguna Beach' co-stars before she joined 'The Hills.' They dated for almost a year, however, the relationship was an on-again-off-again one. They finally decided to call it quits in 2006. As reported by The Things, Cavallari was 18 at the time.
Their relationship on 'The Hills' was scripted
Not all matches are made in heaven. Some of them are made on reality TV. Unfortunately, Brody and Cavallari's alleged 'love story' falls under that, seeing that although they played a couple on screen, the 'reality' element of it all was missing. As reported by The Things, the pair was asked to look as though they were a couple on 'The Hills' even though they'd already broken up.
Cavallari even had fans convinced that Jenner was her first serious and mature relationship. However, this was not true, seeing that the two were fake dating and she had been in a serious relationship previously, with Stephen Colletti, her high school boyfriend. During their time on the show, the two were in a relationship, just not with each other. Jenner was dating model Jayde Nicole at the time and Cavallari was briefly involved with Justin Bobby, who was then seeing her friend, Audrina Patridge.
But even that might have just been a storyline, considering Cavallari revealed on her show, 'Very Cavallari,' that she was dating a cameraman on the sets of 'The Hills,' as reported by InTouch. When Patridge asked if she is still in touch with anyone Cavallari revealed that Jenner was on that list. "I talk to Brody. I talk to Brody here and there — not a lot, but we have kept in touch, for sure," she said. "Yeah, we dated when I was 18. When I came on The Hills, we didn’t actually date, obviously, and we were able to be friends and hang out," she explained to Patridge and Heidi Montag on the show.
She also went on to dish out some more truths about her dating life. "Do you remember when I dated Miguel, the cameraman, on 'The Hills'?" she asked, much to Montag's surprise. "We dated for a few months, and nobody knew, and I was dating Brody on the show. Meanwhile, Miguel was, like, filming it," Cavallari said.
This isn't the first time she's come clean about her relationship with Jenner, seeing that she spoke about it on Bethenny Frankel’s show, 'Bethenny,' back in 2013. "On 'The Hills,' they had us ‘dating’ for a few episodes. They pretended that him and Jayde [Nicole] broke up, and I was dating Brody. It wasn’t real at all."

Will the couple get back together?
While talking to US Weekly, co-star Spencer Pratt hinted that there might still be some chemistry between the two after all. "Brody told me that him and Kristin almost made out on the rocks on the beach. So, I can’t wait to actually tune in just to [see] that part. See how close — I think she said, ‘Kiss me,’ and he did it." Pratt said.
Even Jenner himself was all praises for his former flame. "She looks incredible. Like, for real, she has three kids. I mean, she’s worked her butt off and she looks so good," he said, as reported in the same article. "Like, it’s crazy. I couldn’t even believe how incredible she looks," he added.
Could this be the start of a new romance or just a new storyline on 'The Hills: New Beginnings'? only time will tell.
