Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler were both very 'stubborn' and often accused each other of cheating, reveals insider

Kristin Cavallari revealed on Sunday, April 26, that she and her husband Jay Cutler are not together anymore. However, it seems things have been getting ugly for quite some time now since a source has now disclosed that the pair often accused one another of cheating throughout their marriage before calling it quits.

“The word around Nashville is they really just don’t like each other anymore. They would accuse each other of cheating, but nothing really solid. They are both very stubborn and bump heads a lot and neither backs down,” the insider told Us Weekly.

Continuing, the source added: “Kristin and Jay always seemed annoyed with each other and they were only on the same side when it came to their kids. Their personal relationship became antagonistic and it was better for their whole family to divorce.”

Cavallari and Cutler started dating in 2010  before tying the knot in June 2013. They share three children together — sons Camden Jack,7, and Jaxon Wyatt, 5, and daughter Saylor James,4.

'The Hills' alum confirmed the news of their divorce in an Instagram post on April 26. She posted a picture of the two from one of their vacations, walking arm in arm as she wrote: “With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce.”

“We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family,” the 33-year-old added.

This comes two days after Cavallari filed the paperwork for divorce on April 24. She cited “inappropriate marital conduct” and “irreconcilable differences” as the reasons for her divorce from the former NFL quarterback.

In the legal documents, Cavallari claimed that Cutler “is guilty of such inappropriate marital conduct as renders further cohabitation unsafe and improper.” The ‘Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County’ star denied that the 36-year-old “has always been the available at-home parent and primary caretaker” of their three children.

She has also requested primary custody of their kids as well as asked for child support from the athlete. The divorce papers filed on behalf of Cavallari demanded Cutler pay for the children’s health insurance and other related expenses such as dental, orthodontic, and eye care.

However, Cutler, who initiated the divorce, in his paperwork filed on Tuesday, April 21, mentioned “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation from his wife. However, unlike Cavallari, he has requested joint custody for their kids.

Three months before announcing her separation from Cutler, Cavallari detailed about her fall out with BFF Kelly Henderson, who had been accused of having an affair with her husband.

However, during the Season 3 premiere of ‘Very Cavallari’, she explained that she felt Henderson was adding ”fuel to the fire” by not stopping the allegations and by bringing up Cutler on Twitter. “Why do you want to post about that? To get more attention about it,” Cavallari said, claiming the 37-year-old was “using Jay for her own personal gain.”
