Here's why Britney Spears' teen sons Sean and Jayden skipped her wedding to Sam Asghari
Britney Spears crawled back into the spotlight when she announced that she was going to marry Sam Asghari on Thursday, June 9. However, things took a weird when her first husband Jason Allen Alexander crashed her wedding and live-streamed a part of it. Moreover, the ceremony was supposed to be extremely close-knit, so much so that even Britney's family wasn't invited.
TMZ previously reported that only 100 guests would be attending the event, and the list won't be including her sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15. Her ex-husband Kevin Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan penned a note to TMZ saying, "Although the boys will not be in attendance, Kevin and the boys are happy for Britney and wish her and Sam all the best going forward." The 40-year-old singer tied the knot with Sam in a private ceremony held at Spears' Thousand Oaks home on Thursday, June 9.

According to People, 60 guests attended the ceremony where Britney wore a gown by Versace and walked down the aisle to Elvis Presley's version of 'Can't Help Falling In Love.' Asghari's manager told People after the ceremony, "I am very ecstatic this day has come, and they are married. I know he wanted this for so long. He is so caring and supportive every step of the way. I am so grateful to have Sam in my life and can't wait for the future they will build together." The pair was first introduced to each other on Britney's 'Slumber Party' music video set.
The Guestlist
Considering Britney and her star power, some big names were indefinitely present. Celebrities like Drew Barrymore, Madonna, Paris Hilton, Kathy Hilton with husband Carter Reum, Donatella Versace, Selena Gomez, Kate Hudson, and Gwenyth Paltrow attended the wedding with much razzmatazz. Considering that most of her family did not attend the wedding, one close member did attend the ceremony, and i.e., Bryan Spears, her brother.
Ashgari previously spoke to GQ about proposing Britney. He said, "I figured with her taste, she wouldn’t want something super big and super celebrity. Celebrities get that million-dollar ring. And usually, it’s free because it’s for promotion, but I want it to represent something." Many reports indicated that most of her immediate family did not attend the event because of the tense relationship that only grew worse ever since she publicly spoke about the abuse she endured. According to many reports, her father Jamie Spears, mother Lynn Spears, and younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears weren't invited. And of course, she didn't invite her ex-husbands. This was proven to be the right decision after her first husband Jason crashed the wedding, and got charged with trespassing, vandalism, and 2 batteries.
