'Bottom of the barrel stuff': Britney Spears' lawyer slams Kevin Federline for posting videos of her arguing with sons
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline leaked footage of his ex-wife allegedly fighting with her two sons on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. In since-deleted posts on Instagram, Federline shared old videos of Spears appearing to scold their kids, Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15, in what seemed to be a 'cruel' act to 'belittle' the singer. Spears' attorney slams Federline for violating her privacy and destroying the credibility of the mother and their children on a public forum and warns Kevin that he has created a legal issue.
Federline posted the videos on Instagram and captioned them: "This isn't even the worst of it." In one clip, one of her sons appears to be in bed and Spears lectures him for lacking respect for her. In the second, Spears is in a car with the two boys, scolding Sean for taking his shoes off in an ice cream parlor and then confiscating his cell phone. The videos have since been deleted. Spears' attorney, Matthew Rosengart, also represented the popstar during her conservatorship battle with her father, Jamie Spears. "Britney Spears is a brilliantly-talented, extremely-hardworking icon, who is rightfully beloved and respected by millions around the world," Rosengart began his statement to Page Six on Thursday, August 11, "The same, unfortunately, cannot be said about Mr Federline, who for reasons that are inexplicable, decided to give a gratuitous interview that has hurt the mother of his children."

Federline's interview with Daily Mail for ITV, where he divulged personal details about Spears' relationship with her kids, claims that Sean and Jayden "are not seeing" their mother right now, due in part to her Instagram activity. In Rosengart's statement, he insisted that Spears "has faithfully supported her children and she loves them dearly," despite Federline's attempt to make it appear otherwise. He said, "Whether he realizes it or not, Mr Federline has not only violated the privacy and dignity of the mother of his children, he has undermined his own children, whose privacy he should protect. Putting aside his ITV interview, Mr Federline’s ill-advised decision to post an old video of his 11 and 12-year-old children was cruel, bottom of the barrel stuff."
"In addition to demeaning himself and violating societal norms, he has now also created various legal issues for himself including, but not limited to, implicating cyber-harassment and cyber-bullying statutes, among other things," Rosengart added.
Rosengart further added, "It has been my honor to work with Britney, to suspend her father as conservator, to help her gain her freedom and dignity and to help protect her from the type of bullying she has endured in the past and we will not tolerate bullying in any area."
"We are working with Instagram to ensure that Mr Federline adheres to its rules and we are exploring all appropriate relief against him. In the meantime, as Britney herself poignantly said, whatever is occurring between her and her boys should remain private. We urge Mr Federline to act with a measure of grace and decency and to cease from publicly discussing private matters, which benefits no one," the statement said.
