Britney Spears' album 'Glory' has reached the top tiers of the iTunes charts four years after its release.

'Glory' was Britney's ninth studio album, released in 2016. It performed well commercially and was met with positive reviews.

Earlier, Britney shared an image of the overall iTunes album charts on her Instagram stories, which shows 'Glory' claimed the number five spot. The singer wrote, "WOW!!!! I was not expecting to see this today .... you guys are amazing !!!!! I love this album and am happy to see you do too !!!!"

In addition to this achievement, 'Glory' also claimed the number one spot on the iTunes pop album charts, breezing past albums from artistes like Mariah Carey, Madonna, Elton John, Ed Sheeran, and Dua Lipa.

The singer took to Instagram to reveal the news, stating "Hi guys, so today I just figured out that Glory went to number one on the iTunes charts. I have no idea what happened." She then added, "Because of you I'm having the best day ever. Thank you, guys."

Britney has recently been in the news for a variety of reasons, including the extending of her conservatorship that began after a series of very public mental breakdowns she endured in 2008, the #FreeBritney campaign gaining traction again following the singer voluntarily checking herself into a mental health facility, her calls for socialism via wealth redistribution, and her relationship with boyfriend Sam Asghari.

But mostly, the singer has been keeping fans entertained with her positivity during the coronavirus lockdown. She has shared images of the setting sun while encouraging people to stay strong and uplift one another and has also encouraged fans to stay fit via workout and fitness videos, in addition to sharing book recommendations and uplifting quotes to help people deal with these trying times.

And in an ode to the early 2000s, Britney even shouted out her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, with whom she had a highly-publicized relationship and subsequent breakup, as she danced to his song 'Filthy' and joked about the untimely end of the reigning couple of that era.

But it appears this time she's in the news for her music, and it just so happens to the album she worked hard on for two years that turned out to be one of her personal favorite albums in her catalog.

The viral campaign started trending again in July 2020 and fans can't stop talking about it. "Britney Spears goes through a mental health crisis publicly and she loses her rights. Kanye West goes through a mental health crisis publicly and he runs for president. #FreeBritney," one said and another posted, "Stand up for Britney Spears the same way you stood up and ran to the dance floor when Toxic started to play. #FreeBritney."
