LONDON, ENGLAND: Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton's (Luke Newton) steamy romance in 'Bridgerton' Season 3: Part 1 has got the fans talking.

While the four episodes majorly focused on their love story, Will and Alice Mondrich have got a minor yet interesting storyline as well.

Will (Martins Imhangbe) and Alice Mondrich (Emma Naomi) have had some brief appearances since Season 1. However, an unexpected event brings them into the spotlight.

Will has always struggled to provide for his family, while his beloved wife, Alice, has stood by him through thick and thin. Things turn out for them as their son, Nicholas, unexpectedly inherits wealth of Lady Kent.

Fans have been wondering if they missed Lady Kent's appearance in the previous seasons.

But you can sigh in relief as Lady Kent has never been mentioned or introduced in any scene up until this moment in Season 3. However, the question remains- Who is Lady Kent in 'Bridgerton'?

Lady Kent was Alice Mondrich’s long lost aunt, whom she met when she was younger. In Season 3, Alice describes Lady Kent as "very cold lady".

While the creators have not delved deeper into Lady Kent's life, they focus on establishing how her death changes Alice and Will's fate forever.

Walter Dundas, a representative of the crown, breaks the news of inheritance to the couple.

Fans needn't scratch their heads with the mention of Lady Kent as her importance in the plot begins and ends with how Alice and Will's life changes overnight.

Alice has been a distant relative of Lady Kent and they had met only once in their life. Initially, it may seem bizarre as to why Lady Kent's wealth be transferred to Alice's son.

Walter Dundas explains that there are several cousins of Alice who were much closer to Lady Kent. However, none of them have any male children, and therefore, Alice's eldest son, Nicholas automatically stands next in line to inherit the Kent estate.

With Lady Kent's death, Alice and Will have gained access to her vast estate with a team of servants to look after their needs.

The couple has been clearly overwhelmed with the new lifestyle while they have been struggling to adjust to some aspects of it. Initially, they are asked to sleep in separate rooms.

However, the couple eventually decides to pursue their happiness, even if it means breaking some rules.

They finally sleep together in the same room while Alice too makes bold decisions. She ditches Lady Kent's fabrics and dons her own ensembles that bring her the much-needed confidence and comfort among the elites.

While their storyline has been just an additional plot to the ongoing drama, we expect them to gain further spotlight in 'Bridgerton' Season 3: Part 2.
