With last week's cliffhanger, 'Briarpatch' continues to grow more interesting as the suspects multiply. The San Bonifacio police force, however, seems to have zeroed in on Floyd Ferness (Jon Beavers) as the No. 1 suspect for both car bombings. Since Ferness was Felicity Dill's ex-boyfriend and one of the car bombs took Felicity's life while Allegra Dill (Rosario Dawson) and Calvin Strucker (Chris Mulkey) almost lost their lives in the second one, he seems like a good suspect. But Allegra doesn't seem to think so.

Even though Ferness evaded her while she chased him through a parking lot, Episode 3's sneak peek scene shows Allegra voicing her doubts to A. D. Singe (Edi Gathegi), who was Felicity's lawyer and is now hers as well. She tells him that Ferness was probably not to blame because the car bombs used "outside talent" and she says Floyd was not an outsider and not that talented either.

Singe warns her to stop hobnobbing with murder suspects. But her luck with murderous gents doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon. In the second episode, we got to know by name alone, Mr. Clyde Brattle (Alan Cumming), a "part-time American gun runner" and "full-time international fugitive.

He is also Jake Spivey's (Jay R. Ferguson) ex-partner. Senator Cyrus wanted Spivey to rat on Brattle in his deposition to Allegra but Spivey doesn't do that because he believes Brattle is dead.

But as the trailer for episode 3 shows Brattle is alive and well and in San Bonifacio in a short clip where he smiles toothily at Allegra before introducing himself.

Before this, we also see Singe and Allegra turn up at Jack Spivey's place. When Allegra suspects him of being the mastermind behind the car bombings, he looks genuinely hurt. "You're like family," he tells Allegra, who he lovingly calls "Pick", the nickname he gave her when they were together.

We also see Allegra punch Felicity's tenant, the sketchy Mr. Harold Snow who has a cash box in his hands. In her fists-first style, Allegra questions him about who paid him. So Snow is obviously hiding something about Felicity or the car bombings, which we will find out once episode 3 airs.

'Briarpatch' Episode 3 airs February 20 at 10 pm ET on the USA Network.
