LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brendan Fraser has made a stunning comeback into the world of cinema with a phenomenal performance in Darren Aronofsky’s ‘The Whale’ and saw him having an extraordinary transformation to bring the character of Charlie to life. In the 1997 movie, viewers saw Fraser playing the character of George who lives in the jungle and is friends with all the animals. The actor got ripped for the role and did a lot of stunts on his own. However, he had to sacrifice a lot for getting ripped and had to get away from certain things that are really important in a diet.

While making an appearance during Variety’s Actors on Actors series, Fraser opened up about ‘George of the Jungle’ while reuniting with ‘Airheads’ co-star Adam Sandler and noted that he went to the extent of starving himself for the role for the comedy movie. The starvation made him feel really weak and it went to an extent that he started forgetting things in his life.

“I was waxed, starved of carbohydrates.  I would drive home after work and stop to get something to eat. I needed some cash one day, and I went to the ATM, and I couldn’t remember my PIN number because my brain was misfiring. Banging on the thing. I didn’t eat that night,” Fraser said during the conversation.

Sandler joked that Fraser’s body looked so good that all the actors felt embarrassed of their bodies and made everyone guilty. The ‘Hustle’ star also noted Fraser did all the actors “wrong.”

“You weren't supposed to do that to us. You did right by the character. But you did wrong by us, man. You made us feel bad about ourselves. Were you oiled up at all during 'George'?" Sandler joked.

‘George of the Jungle’ received mixed reviews from critics but was well-received by audiences. The movie went on to earn more than $175 million on a production budget of $55 million. Apart from being a commercial success, the movie also made Fraser a household name and a comedic star.

As of now, Fraser is busy promoting his latest movie ‘The Whale’, which is scheduled to release in theatres on December 9.
