'Bob Hearts Abishola' Season 2 Episode 2: Should Kemi dump Chukwuameka? Fans say 'he's not worth it'

When Chukwuameka decides to take his mother to Paris for her birthday, Kemi is displeased and lets her hatred of his mother known clearly

This week's episode of 'Bob Hearts Abishola' continues in the aftermath of Abishola's (Folake Olowofoyeku) acceptance of Bob's (Billy Gardell) proposal, only after Abishola rejected him first, she popped the question to which he said yes.

Unfortunately, because of Abishola's friend, Kemi's (Gina Yashere) fight with her boyfriend, Chukwuemeka (Tony Tambi) over the latter's decision to only take his "mommy" to Paris and not Kemi, Abishola's and Bob's engagement celebrations are interrupted when Kemi accompanies Abishola to her home. The episode's title, 'Paris is for Lovers, Not Mothers' is in reference to Kemi's dilemma.

Sure, Bob's and Abishola's celebrations are cute, but it is Kemi's dilemma with Chukwuemeka's mother that has taken over the episode and the viewers' interest. When Kemi is at Abishola's home, she talks to Aunt Olu (Shola Adewusi) and Uncle Tunde (Barry Shabaka Henley) about her issues, when Olu and Tunde -- who know Chukwuemeka's mother, Ogechi (Kimberly Scott) -- tells her that Ogechi always wins fights and that she has to "out-Ogechi" in order to win.

The dinner scene was a delight to watch for many viewers as Gina Yashere (who is also a co-showrunner with Chuck Lorre) stole every scene she appeared in during the episode. A fan tweeted, "Kemi having dinner and trading quips about her sweetie’s mom is bringing me such joy @ginayashere #BobHeartsAbishola."

And while viewers noted that Kemi is often selfish, as one fan tweeted, "Kemi is that friend who ALWAYS makes it about her at all costs. #BobHeartsAbishola #MondayNight," fans are still taking her side. A viewer quipped, "Oh lawd. My mom just said that Kemi should make her [MIL] coffee with shrimp water. #bobheartsabishola."

And so, Kemi does exactly what Olu and Tunde advise her. She shows up at Chukwuemeka's house dressed in Ogechi's fashion, which makes Chukwuemeka think she looks great and perhaps now, Kemi has a better chance of being the woman in Chukwuemeka's heart rather than his mother, Ogechi.

However, fans think Chukwuameka is not worth it -- remember that he used to be Abishola's prospective groom before he and Kemi began to secretly see each other? A fan tweeted, "Kemi, he just ain't worth it. #BobHeartsAbishola." Nevertheless, the episode was enjoyable for viewers, as a fan tweeted, "I’m enjoying tonight’s new episode of #BobHeartsAbishola. Kemi is hilarious tonight. Great episode gang! @BobAbisholaCBS."
