Emma Myers comments on 'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder' major future update: 'I'm feeling very...'
It won't be too long before Emma Myers' Pippa Fitz-Amobi is once again on the prowl, looking to solve a mystery, one that tests her abilities and challenges her enterprise. The BBC Three and Netflix co-production show has now confirmed that filming for Season 2 is complete. Based on the best-selling Young Adult mystery novel by author Holly Jackson, the debut season of the show was an instant hit on Netflix and was featured on the Top 10 list right at the top. Building on the buzz created by the first installment, the sophomore season will consist of six episodes and is based on the novel 'Good Girl, Bad Blood,' the second entry in Jackson's best-selling YA series. Jackson has also served as the screenwriter for the second season, alongside Poppy Cogan.
The recently released video, which surfaced on Instagram via the BBC's official page, provided a candid behind-the-scenes look at the production of 'AGGGTM' Season 2. Myers was seen celebrating the achievement alongside her co-stars and Jackson, who was on set. Myers then went on to express, "I’m feeling very nostalgic, this season has been really special to me, and I’m so excited for everybody to see it." Jackson then explained that the second season is best described as "bigger and badder."
In terms of the plot, Season 2 picks up from where the debut season finale left off. The Netflix official synopsis reads, "After she solved the Andie Bell case in Season 1, Pip’s world has been transformed by her actions, and not always for the better. Pip is determined to fix the fallout — and stay away from any more investigations. But as Max Hastings’ (Henry Ashton) trial approaches, key witness Jamie Reynolds (Davies) suddenly disappears, and Pip finds herself in a race against time to find him. This new mystery will take Pip to unexpected places as she struggles with the idea of justice, straying even further from the “good girl” she once was."
Pip will once again be joined by Zain Iqbal as Ravi Singh. In addition to familiar faces, the ensemble cast will include a few new additions, including Eden H. Davies, Misia Butler, and Jack Rowan. Speaking about her excitement at finally being a step closer to the release of the show's next installment, Jackson noted in an interview with Tudum, "I am BEYOND thrilled that we can continue Pip’s story and, this time, I’m writing on the show! We owe everything to the dedicated fans, and I can’t wait to reunite with my AGGGTM family!” 'AGGGTM' season two drops on May 27.
