‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 Episode 4 release date revealed as storyline teases major twist
'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 2 has been widely praised for its violent tone, simmering tension, and character-driven storytelling, which is seen as a huge improvement from the show's debut season. 'The Punisher' writer and producer, Dario Scardapane, serves as the showrunner of the crime thriller series, which focuses on Matt Murdock's fight for justice against New York City's mob boss, Wilson Fisk. The show's first three episodes are slow-burning and set the stage for an epic battle between Murdock, aka Daredevil, and the drug-lord-turned-mayor. As the city descends into a fascist state with its own ICE-like anti-vigilante task force (AVTF), Murdock rises as a symbol of resistance and teams up with the city's other vigilantes to take down Fisk and his powerful cronies.
The neo-noir thriller premiered its Season 2 on March 24 on Disney+ and returned in the second week with two back-to-back episodes. However, from next week onwards, the eight-part series will resume its original schedule of one episode per week. Episode 4, titled 'Gloves Off,' is slated to drop on Tuesday, April 7, at 9 pm ET / 6 pm PT on the streamer. The episode is directed by Solvan 'Slick' Naim, who also helmed Episode 3, and is written by Chantelle M. Wells. Similar to Episodes 1 and 8, its runtime is reportedly 51 minutes, making it one of the longest episodes of Season 2.
After April 7, the next four episodes will drop weekly until the finale, titled 'The Southern Cross,' closes out the gritty drama on May 5. As reported earlier, fans will also be treated to a Frank Castle-special titled 'Punisher: One Last Kill' a week later on May 12. The television special will chronicle Frank Castle's journey after he escaped from the AVTF in the Season 1 finale of 'Daredevil: Born Again.' The vigilante will be seen facing his own demons as he "tries to live a life without the need for revenge, only to be drawn into an unexpected conflict." Additionally, 'Daredevil: Born Again' was renewed for Season 3 in September 2025, with filming taking place between March and July of this year. The third chapter in the vigilante saga will drop in March 2027 and will be a part of the s Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) Phase Six.
Marvel fans won't have to wait long to get their next superhero fix, as May 27 will bring Nicolas Cage's unique take on Spider-Man in the eight-part series, 'Spider-Noir.' Two months later, on July 31, Tom Holland himself will don the iconic suit and swing back to the big screen in 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day.' The highly anticipated film will also feature appearances from Frank Castle, aka Punisher, alongside the mystical cult of ninja assassins known as The Hand.
