‘Tracker’ Season 3 recap: Episode 14 reveals surprising ‘Paradise’ connection via Jon Beavers
'Tracker' Season 3 Episode 14, 'The Field Trip' saw the skilled survivalist Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley) answer a father's desperate plea to find his missing son. The episode aired on Sunday on CBS and featured a familiar face: actor Jon Beavers as James Clark, a suburban dad whose son disappears during a class field trip to the museum. Season 3 of 'Tracker' premiered on October 19, 2025, and the series has a few more episodes left before its season finale on April 19. Beavers guest-starred in the latest episode of the CBS drama, but fans may recognize him from another popular drama series.
He portrayed the Special Agent Billy Pace in Hulu's post-apocalyptic drama, 'Paradise,' which wrapped up its Season 2 finale on Monday. Pace was part of President Cal Bradford's Secret Service detail and became a mercenary for the wealthy billionaire Sinatra Redmond. Despite his tragic past, which turned him into a ruthless killer, he developed a close bond with the show's protagonist, Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown). However, in a shocking twist, Pace was killed by his girlfriend, Jane Driscoll, in Season 1, but his character continued to appear in the second season through flashbacks. With his appearance on 'Tracker,' Beavers has starred alongside both Hartley and Brown, who played brothers in 'This Is Us.'
In the latest episode of 'Tracker,' Beavers' character, James Clark, and his wife, Sarah, approach Colter Shaw to find their missing son, Alex. He joins the survivalist as he goes through a list of suspects, including the museum's cleaning lady, Sylvia, and Alex’s teacher, Mr. Brooks. They find the culprit is the couple's neighbor, Noah, who has a 'dodgy record' with young children. With help from the hacker Randy, Shaw finds Noah's cabin in time to save the young boy, along with Brooks, whom Noah attacks with an axe, but he manages to survive. As Clark grapples with not spending enough time with his son, the series gives a subtle nod to Shaw's complicated relationship with his own father.
Beavers will next be seen in an untitled NBC pilot directed by Jennifer Morrison. The drama series will showcase Emily Deschanel as the trailblazing professor Georgia Ryan, who "challenges the field of criminology by shifting the investigative focus to the victim rather than just the perpetrator," per the show's official description. There's no word yet on Beaver's role in the series. The 41-year-old actor has appeared in shows like 'Fresh Beat Band of Spies,' 'Animal Kingdom,' and 'The Long Road Home.' His other guest-starring roles include 'NCIS,' 'S.W.A.T.,' 'Criminal Minds,' and 'Chicago P.D.' He also played Junior Sykes in Kevin Costner’s epic Western film series 'Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1' and its sequel.
