Blinks, mark your calendars for January 31. If it wasn't already exciting enough that they dropped their comeback studio record 'The Album' recently, your favorite K-pop girl group, Blackpink, is headed to the virtual stage this winter for a new concert.

Previously teased as an "around the world" event, fans speculated that Blackpink had a live show of sorts in mind and it looks like they were on point, as we're getting a special live stream YouTube concert, titled 'The Show'.

Release date

The event will kick off on January 31, 2021, at 12 am EST / 2 pm KST, due to safety precautions and current restrictions pertaining to Covid-19 in South Korea. Originally, the concert was scheduled for December 27, 2020.

Where to watch and how to live stream

The concert will be live-streamed via YouTube, for which you can buy access here. Fans can access the concert through the experience offer page on desktop and mobile devices, or by visiting BLACKPINK’s Official YouTube Channel and clicking “JOIN” membership on the YouTube website or the YouTube Android app.

Through the digital concert format and platform Palm Stage, the concert will be a paid interactive digital event featuring novel and innovative use of streaming technology. The usage of the platform comes in a time when live concerts remain suspended for the foreseeable future due to the Covid-19 pandemic and label companies have had to innovate to provide substitute experiences for their fans and alternative revenue streams for their featured artists' material.

Poster

Taking to their social media on December 2, the group shared a poster for the event. "‘THE SHOW’ POSTER YG PALM STAGE - 2020 BLACKPINK: THE SHOW," they wrote in the caption on Instagram, adding the hashtags, "#BLACKPINK #블랙핑크 #PALMSTAGE #THESHOW #LIVESTREAMCONCERT #YOUTUBEMUSIC #YOUTUBE #YG." What to expect

The setlist for the January 31 concert will feature many tracks off the band’s new release, 'The Album' as well.

Trailer

Blackpink have shared three videos on Twitter and on YouTube for 'The Show'. In the trailer, the outro of the track 'Pretty Savage' from 'The Album' plays out while we see a designer in a gloomy art studio putting together Blackpink photos, cover art and more.

Message Video

In another video, Blackpink members each spoke in a personal message to announce the concert, the membership process and more. The video is entirely in Korean, so be sure to keep the subtitles on for this clip.

Guide Video

The third video shared by the group has been called a 'Guide Video', which, as the name suggests is a brief manual on viewing and accessing 'The Show'. The clip includes English translation and should be treated as a prerequisite before gaining membership access.
