Blackpink have taken to their social media to announce a new single on July 22. The new track will feature a surprise guest as a collaborator and is set to release in August. "#BLACKPINK #블랙핑크 #NewSingle #TeaserPoster #August #ComingSoon #YG", the phenomenal K-pop group wrote on Instagram. The announcement comes with a poster featuring members posing with items including a pomegranate and a sunflower with "New Single Release" written above their pics.

As of now, we can only guess who the mystery artiste will be as "Featuring ?" is included on the poster. The title of the new single is also not revealed yet and the theme of the track will presumably have a connection to sweet treats, based on the dripping icing at the top of the poster.

Fans are in a meltdown over the new track and already have their chosen collaborative artiste picked. "Oooohhhh are they going for a different concept this time?" asked a fan. It's clear that Ariana Grande takes the overall fan vote as featured artiste with many comments saying, "Aripink is coming" and "BLACKPINK X ARIANA GRANDE PLEASEEEEE." One fan wrote, "I just wanted a feat with Ariana Grande, I'm not asking for much."

A fan said, "PSPSPSPS BLACKPINK FT ARIANA GRANDE" to which a fan replied, "It may or may not be. Anyway, we love BLACKPINK" Another artist that a fan requested to feature is South Korean rapper G-Dragon. With a few weeks to go, there is a possibility that Blackpink wants to see who the fans want as the guest artiste before they release the track.

If Ariana Grande joins Blackpink on the new single, it will mark the first time that they have collaborated together on a song. Since last year, there have been numerous rumors about them working together, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. In July, 2019, the '7 Rings' singer had shared her interest in working with Blackpink. According to Capital FM, Grande said she "would probably pass out", but said "yes!" when a fan asked her directly: "Quick question would u ever collab with Blackpink?"

Further rumors began in August last year when record producer Tommy Brown, who has worked with Grande on some of her biggest hits like 'Thank U, Next' and '7 Rings', posted a picture of himself and Blackpink in Seoul while enjoying some wine and dinner. Since Brown is Grande's record producer, fans of both artistes immediately took it as a hint that Blackpink and Ariana Grande could be working together on new music.
