K-pop girl group Blackpink took to social media on September 20 to post another teaser for their upcoming debut studio album. Titled 'The Album', the new record will mark their very first studio album in the Korean language.

If you are eager for the new LP and are waiting for the exact minute of its release, then the good news is that Blackpink has shared further info. Along with a new poster pic, the group has also revealed the exact time of its release, due out on October 2 at 1 pm KST / 12 am EST. The group's poster teases "COMING SOON" and with their four photos taken from behind and layered on top of each other, shows the girls standing in what looks like a parking garage.

Blackpink's new post is one of many teasers as the K-pop stars have teased the album before. On August 28, the group also shared a teaser poster of cover art depicting a shining pink crown against a stark black background, which was first unveiled by the group's management company YG Entertainment back in July along with the album's official release date.

Before their highly-anticipated debut album, Blackpink have had a busy summer, dropping and promoting two tracks from 'The Album'. Blackpink released the lead single 'How You Like That' in June, marking the band's return after a year-long hiatus. According to BBC, with 1.65 million fans who tuned in for the unveiling of the song, Blackpink broke a record set by fellow K-pop stars BTS in February. 'How You Like That' also became one of the most-liked videos on YouTube with over 16 million likes. The track also saw the group winning Song of Summer at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards, making Blackpink the first Asian act to be nominated for and win the category.

One of their biggest collaborative efforts 'Ice Cream' arrived on August 28. The song featured Selena Gomez, who had been teased as a mystery guest since July. 'Ice Cream' was also met with notable commercial success, debuting and peaking at No. 13 on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming Blackpink's first single to peak inside the Top 20 of the chart.

When it comes to their album, Blackpink have shown they are fully engaged in not letting fans go without new music in 2020, despite the coronavirus lockdown measures and having to cancel their world tour this summer. Speaking of their time in isolation and working on 'The Album' in an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, Blackpink member Rosé said, "I think it's made us more focused into completing the album and making it the best thing we can give to our fans, and perfecting it and everything." She added, "I feel like this album could get a lot of light and energy to everybody being stuck at home not knowing what to do hopefully this can cheer them up."
