Ceaser Emanuel was dismissed from VH1's long-running tv program 'Black Ink Crew: New York' after a video of him hitting a dog went viral. However, the star alleges that he is being set up for breaking up a nasty dog fight after being accused of brutally thrashing the dog with a chair.

The video shows the tattoo business owner, 43, repeatedly beating the dog with a folding chair, as well as confining the dog in a cage and dragging it down a hill. "We have made the decision to cut ties with Ceaser Emanuel from Black Ink Crew New York," VH1 penned in a statement posted to Facebook on Thursday, 23 June. Ceaser has now spoken out about the incident after having kept quiet for so long. The reality star alleges that he is being set up after his own home security system's video of him was released. He claims that all he was doing was attempting to prevent a deadly dog fight between his dog and another dog. He wishes he could take it back, saying that he thought his back was against the wall at the time and that it was the only way to persuade his dog and the other to back down and stop fighting, specifically because he was scared of what may happen.

He claims his actions were unacceptable and admits that he is wrong for attacking the dog. "Since next season was close to finishing production, this decision will not impact the upcoming season. "Walter Mosley, Emanuel's lawyer, does not deny that it was his client in the video but told PEOPLE that it is an old film and that Emanuel was preventing some vicious canines from hurting other animals.

"Ceaser is an avid dog lover and has many dogs and has had in his lifetime, many dogs and other pets," Mosley said. "This was an unfortunate situation as I understand it, where there were a number of other aggressive dogs attacking smaller dogs and probably was a lapse of judgment as to how to appropriately break it up, break up that interaction." "In some ways, what was not seen in that video, was him protecting the smaller dogs, he just likely didn't do this in the best way, so he's seeking assistance and help to make sure that as a dog owner, he's properly managing it, and understands how to interact in more healthy ways with all types of dogs and all of his dogs, but this is certainly a situation that he had addressed a long time ago," the lawyer added. "It's unfortunate that a video that's probably almost a year old or older surfaced and created such a disruption. It's something that we've addressed and been addressing for some time."

On Wednesday, 22 June, Donna Lombardi, Emanuel's co-star, re-posted the video on her Instagram and criticised the tattoo artist. "If you can treat a dog like this, it shows how sick of a person you truly are. I don't even get into the life of this man, but this video made me so upset. Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE animals. Especially dogs," she stated in the caption.

One of her followers responded to her post and wrote, "He should be put in jail right now over this he can go to jail over harming or abusing a pet of anything I hope and pray he realizes that too." "That’s serial killer activity," stated another. "😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 that poor doggie 😢😢😢😢. This is terrible. He needs to go to jail,"  a user commented.

'Black Ink Crew New York', which chronicles the daily turmoil at a Black-owned and -operated tattoo parlour in New York City's Harlem district, had its VH1 debut in 2013 and has now run for nine seasons.
