‘Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn),’ one of the five projects featuring Arkham Asylum’s favorite doctor-turned-inmate, is set for release on February 7, 2020, and that's one of the few things we know about the project.

Much like any other DC movie, everyone’s lips are sealed regarding what is to come, including that of Derek Wilson, who is set to play Tim Evans in the film.

As Wilson points out, Warner Bros. is very tight-lipped about these projects, and expect everyone associated with it to follow suit. It is only fair that the ‘Future Man’ star’s answer to my questions regarding the project is, “I can’t say much about it, but I am very excited about it.”

“It is my first big studio movie,” says Wilson, excited to be part of such a huge project. “I am just thrilled to be part of it - just incredible actors involved. I feel like a bit of the new kid.”

Directed by Cathy Yan, 'Birds of Prey’ will see Robbie reprising her role as Quinn, additionally taking on the role of a producer as well. The movie is also reportedly going to focus on two other female superheroes of the DC universe - Black Canary and Huntress.

The movie, which is inspired by ‘Black Canary/Oracle: Birds of Prey’ created by Jordan B. Gorfinkel and Chuck Dixon for DC Comics in 1995, will see the bird-themes female heroes forming their own vigilante team. Multiple reports suggest that while Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jurnee Smolett-Bell, and Janelle Monae are in contention for Black Canary, actresses Margaret Qualley, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Cristin Milioti are in the running for Huntress.

“I pitched the idea of an R-rated girl gang film including Harley, because I was like, ‘Harley needs friends.’ Harley loves interacting with people, so don’t ever make her do a standalone film," Robbie said during an interview with Collider.

"She’s got to be with other people, it should be a girl gang. I wasn’t seeing enough girl gangs on screen, especially in the action space. So that was always a big part of it."

This is not to say the men will be sidelined, especially not Wilson’s Tim Evans. However, we are still in the dark as to what his role is going to entail. Even as we wait for more details to emerge over the course of this year leading up to the premiere on February 7, you can rejoice in watching him kill it yet again as Wolf on season 2 of Hulu’s ‘Future Man.’

‘I am just really excited for season 2 to come out on January 11 and it is even more insane and crazy and out there than season 1, because we got to just create - because it takes place in the future - from scratch. So, there were even fewer rules to follow. We could make up the whole world. So, I am excited for fans to see that,” says Wilson regarding the Hulu show.
