American punk rock band Bikini Kill has extended its US tour with additional dates, the band announced on February 25. The new shows, set to take place across the southeastern United States in September, will make stops in Knoxville, Miami, Cleveland, Nashville and more.

Bikini Kill will kick off their 2020 tour with a benefit show for Interfaith Works on March 23, according to Pitchfork. They will wrap up on October 21 at Morrison, Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The new September US leg will begin at The Ground at Club Space in Miami, Florida, on September 12 and the final US stop will be at Iron City, Birmingham, Alabama. See the full list of dates below.

In May, Bikini Kill will play shows with feminist punk icon Alice Bag and later in June they will play Primavera Sound, according to Pitchfork. In July, the band will perform at Burger Boogaloo in Oakland. Electro hip hop artist Princess Nokia will open for the band.

This new tour will be the feminist punk band's first tour since their breakup in 1997. According to Pitchfork, back in 2017, Kathleen Hanna, Tobi Vail and Kathi Wilcox played one song together at the Kitchen in New York City. This was during an event that celebrated the release of the 33 1/3 book about the early feminist punk band The Raincoats penned by Pitchfork contributing editor Jenn Pelly.

Bikini Kill is widely considered to be the pioneer of the underground feminist punk movement Riot grrrl and is known for its radical feminist lyrics and fiery performances. The band released its debut 'Revolution Girl Style Now' in 1991 and their last studio album 'Reject All American' was released in 1996.
