LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After enduring the nightmare situation of receiving death threats from people for giving a heinous twist to the honey-loving and lovable Pooh bear, director Rhys Frake-Waterfield doesn't seem phased. Despite the hate that 'Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey' has received for the slasher version of the popular cartoon bear, Frake-Waterfield has announced a bigger and better sequel. The Milne incarnations of Winnie and his friends went into the public domain at the end of 2021, allowing Frake-Waterfield to use the characters to tell a tale of vengeance after Christopher Robin left his childhood best friends deep in the woods.

'Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey' is set to release on February 15, 2023 in select theaters. While the original movie only had two characters from Milne's book, we are only assuming that the sequel will have other members of the Winnie the Pooh family with maybe Tigger and Eeyore making an appearance too.

'Pooh 2 is already in development'

While Frake-Waterfield seems very passionate about the project, the sequel seems more real and even more terrifying than the last one. As Christopher Robin escapes the wrath of Winnie by the end of the movie, maybe the creepy teddy bear will recruit some of his friends to finish the job they had started. As Piglet is seen being killed at the end of the movie, the assumption that things will get bloodier in the sequel is not a wild one to make. When discussing the horror movie and his plans for the sequel with Entertainment Weekly, Frake-Waterfield said, "Number two is already going into development. I'm hoping that, at minimum, it's going to have five times the budget of the first one, but it could be substantially more than that as well, which would do absolute wonders for the film."

"That's one of the major challenges. It's competing with films like M3GAN [and] they are made on orders of magnitude more. When you have more money for a film, you get more time, you get cooler scenes, you can really spend more time refining things. So I'm really excited for what the second film's going to do." shared Frake-Waterfield.

'Bambi's coming'

With the sequel possibly in works, the director of 'Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey' also has plans to make a horror film with the Bambi character. "Yeah, Bambi's coming," he said. "Bambi. Pooh 2. But, I'm looking to find other concepts and other retellings which aren't just IP. Then I'll see the next one I'm going to get fully attached to. Because even though those projects, Bambi and Pooh 2, are happening, it doesn't necessarily mean I'll direct them. I may just be involved, and produce them, and get them moving, but there might be one of these other ideas which I think could do incredibly well, and I think I could give a lot to that project and that concept. So I may get drawn to one of them. I'm still in the stages of thinking about that at the moment," he revealed, as per Entertainment Weekly.
