Winnie the Pooh and his constant companion Piglet are two of the most adorable cartoon characters loved by children all over the world. However, things might not remain the same for the fictional characters as the two got a scary makeover with the 'Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey' poster.

The gruesome poster shared by Dread Central sees everyone’s favorite Winnie holding a blood-drenched mallet in a completely new avatar. Pooh’s best friend Piglet makes an appearance on the newly-released poster holding a knife while standing over a body. The new poster comes after the characters of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet went into the public domain this year. Social media users did not waste any time in reacting to the new poster expressing their shock and disgust.

Winnie the Pooh and Piglet go the horror way

The tagline of the poster reads, “This ain’t no bedtime story” further killing the innocence of the two lovable characters. An official trailer of 'Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey' is still awaited. However, the movie was first teased in May by director Rhys Frake-Waterfield.

According to Dread Central, the horror flick featuring Winnie the Pooh and Piglet is a co-production between Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios. Apart from taking over the director’s chair, Frake-Waterfield will also produce the project along with Scott Jeffrey. Stuart Alson of ITN will serve as an executive producer on the movie. Reports suggest that Amber Doig-Thorne, Maria Taylor, and Danielle Scott have been roped in as the star cast for the ambitious project. Winnie the Pooh- the popular fictional teddy bear was first created by author A A Milne and illustrator EH Shepard in 1926. Walt Disney Productions then first made a film on Winnie in 1961.
