Ben Affleck reveals why he never wants to be spotted with Chris Hemsworth
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ben Affleck reportedly revealed why he never wants to appear next to Chris Hemsworth in a photograph. The 50-year-old Hollywood star also revealed his plans to visit Australia during a recent interview while joking that he does not want to be seen with the hunky Aussie heartthrob unlike his best friend Matt Damon.
Damon, 52, and Hemsworth, 39, have frequently hung out together along with their families in Australia. They have been spotted vacationing together with their respective children, as well as going on double dates together as they did in 2017 while in New York City.

'I don't want to sit next to Chris Hemsworth'
"Matt's basically, as far as I can tell, an honorary citizen he is there so much – he's friends with Chris Hemsworth and I think that shows the enormous character of Matt to be friends with a guy that much younger and better looking than him," Affleck quipped during an interview with Insider. "Good in practice – but I don't want to sit next to Chris Hemsworth in photographs so I applaud Matt," he continued, adding, "But I'd love to come. I'm hoping one day Chris will invite me to come down and stay at his place, as long as I don't have to take any shirtless pictures next to him."
Damon was regularly photographed spending time with Hemsworth and his wife, 46-year-old Elsa Pataky, during his six-month stay in Byron Bay while filming 'Thor: Love and Thunder.' The Hemsworths reside in a $30M mansion in Broken Head, near the celebrity enclave of Byron Bay. The property resembles a fortress and sits high above Seven Mile Beach. It is fully equipped with a gymnasium, butler's pantry, fire pit, change rooms, outdoor play area for the three Hemsworth children, as well as walk-in wardrobes.
“Chris has been a big fan of Matt Damon, me too, and then when I met his wife I’m even more of a fan of his wife,” Pataky told People in 2019. “They are such amazing people. We have three kids, they have four kids, so we ended up making the same plans because everything we do, we do with our kids, so it’s easier to do things with people that understand you," she added.
Best friends forever
That said, Damon and Affleck have long been the best of friends since they were children growing up in Boston. They famously co-wrote the script for the drama 'Good Will Hunting' which earned them the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 1998. They are also co-stars in the upcoming movie 'Air', set to be released on April 5.
MEAWW previously reported how the duo has never allowed anything to stand in the way of their friendship, not even money. In a recent episode of ‘The Bill Simmons Podcast’, the Oscar winners revealed that starting in the late 1980s, they shared a bank account in addition to their Boston residence. The future stars adopted an "all for one and one for all" philosophy during their difficult years in Beantown in the 1980s. "It was unusual, but we needed the money for auditions," Damon said, calling it a "weird thing in retrospect."
However, Damon noted, "As long as one of us had money, we knew that the power wasn't going to get shut off," adding, "I remember after doing Geronimo, I was like, f**k, I probably had like 35 grand in the bank. I was like [to Affleck], 'We're good! We're good for a year!'" They reportedly had their own guidelines for spending money on things other than necessities. "You were allowed to take out $10 and get quarters and go to [the arcade] and play video games. Eventually, we were allowed to try to buy beer, which never f*****g worked. I think that attitude really helped us in ways we couldn't anticipate," Affleck said, adding, "Matt and I always felt like we're in it together. Like, 'Hey, I want to get the part, but I want you to get the part [too].'"
