The 2020 Beale Street Music Festival was announced to take place May 1-3 by Memphis in May. We can expect a great lineup with artists including rapper Lil Wayne, Grammy-winning roots-soul songstress Brittany Howard, indie folk rockers The Avett Brothers, and Fleetwood Mac stager Lindsey Buckingham, to name but a few.

The music festival is part of the annual Memphis in May festivities and on Thursday they have announced a number of acts as an early snippet of the lineup. This will be the 44th edition of the Beale Street Music Festival and will be held at Tom Lee Park.

More rap artists, apart from Lil Wayne, that will perform will include the likes of Memphis acts Young Dolph and Oscar-winners Three 6 Mafia, making their first festival appearance in eight years.

As per USA Today, the 16-act wide array of artists across different genres will include folk-rockers The Lumineers, soul singer Leon Bridges, rock band Portugal The Man, pop combo AJR, blues-rockers Rival Sons, gospel-soul legend Mavis Staples, bluegrass guitar wizard Billy Strings, alt-pop band Toad the Wet Sprocket, bluesman Taj Mahal and Philly rockers Sheer Mag.

“There’s always tremendous anticipation for our announcement each year, and while the complete lineup will be announced in early February, this year we decided to release the first round of artists now to give our fans a sample of how big the 2020 Beale Street Music Festival will be," Memphis in May president/CEO James Holt said in a statement, reported by USA Today.

A limited number of discounted three-day passes are currently available for $135. VIP passes — which include access to viewing platforms and other amenities — are also available for $699.

Tickets to the 2020 Beale Street Music Fest are available at Eventbrite.com.
